We know PSVR2 is coming, nobody is sure when? But to me it looks like it will be sometime this year, Sony talking a little bit about the specs and even mentioning a few games.
I am holding back on a PS5 until PSVR2 arrives, I really enjoyed the original PSVR, but it is fair to say it was a bit clunky, and there was plenty of room for improvement. with resolution, tracking, and controllers all getting significant upgrades.

looking forward to seeing what they have in store.

PSVR2 specs

Will be honest - a little disappointed they done this at CES after how well the fans have been getting behind the Playstation showcases, but that aside looks like as with the PS5 Sony is hitting the mark in regards hardware.
Specs look perfect for the PS5 hardware, inside out has been a game changer for VR, and the new controllers were 100% needed - and if they can package this around the price of the Occulus units that seem to share fairly similar specs that would be amazing - will be honest I have been impressed with how well Sony seem to backing this after the disaster that was Vita, and something I will never forgive Sony for. Like I feel PSVR done well but the VR train feels like it has almost stopped atm.
What would be great is if we could also get Alyx as a release game, and the continued bc for anyone who didn't do PSVR

I can not imaging it would not be backward compatible. There is a nice catalogue of games for it to fall back on. To ignore those would seem a massive missed opportunity.

Oh Foveated rendering is mentioned. If anyone is wondering what that is? It simply means what you are directly looking at has the highest fidelity, stuff going on in your peripheral vision, carries less detail. it practice it means computing power is used where it is most needed, as only what you are focusing on is where the most computing power will be used.
