State of that club... oh how they have fallen.
What a farce

Never going to stop it without wholesale radical changes to the game which the top clubs will not allow.

Greed has infested the game at the top levels.

You'll change your tune if they sign Ten Hag.

Listening to the BBC podcast the other day about transfers, one chap from the Athletic made an interesting point.
Basically, a top top players career is now managed like a boxers. Promoters dont go for the big match up straight away, its built up, managed, to maximise revenue over a period of time before then going in to the big heavy weight matchup that everyone wants to see, which usually turns into a 2 or 3 fight series, earning massive sums each time but can be career ending if you lose.
Talking about Haaland, the guy said that maybe Barca is the better move now, couple years in Spain before a mega money move to the prem. If he went to the prem/City now, that's him done for 5, 7 years or more and then its only down from there. Basically less opportunity for the agent to maximise his reveune from this prize asset, only renegotiating new contracts with the club, but its the moves that earn them the money.
So although Barca may seem like a weird move right now for one of the world hottest properties, if it happens you can see some of the financial reasoning for it.

Not sure I agree its’down’ from there, perhaps at the moment but the big Spanish duo will recover soon

Yeah but they're getting rid of a ton of players to go for him, it's another huge gamble by them. For all anyone really knows he could end up like coutinho or Werner.

Just seen who's being quoted, Guillem Balague. Most of what he says is just that Ballax.
He's Barcelona's mouthpiece and will say anything he's told by TPTB just to keep the fans onside. The fans want a huge name but they can't afford one so have told Balague to say they're getting Haaland in the summer.

Its more about Barcelona spending money they dont have for a player they can't register. They cant even register Torres.
