So, yeh, Microsoft have just bought CoD and WoW creators Blizzard for $70 billion. I am still trying to get my head round these implications and what this means for Sony in the long term, as tradicionally the likes of CoD have sold better on the Sony platform, and have often had very lucrative timed exclusives on PlayStation.

I absolutely adored Oblivion and probably put 150 hours or something daft into it, but I never felt the same about Skyrim. I think I just did the main storyline and then never picked it back up, which is really unlike me.
Because Skyrim didn't grip me, I'm not overly bothered about TES VI, but on paper it is like my perfect game, or would be if they could combine great combat mechanics. That's why I'm incredibly hopeful for Elden Ring, as it should be that sort of medieval / fantasy RPG setting with sophisticated combat.
Another game in that sphere that I felt was underrated was Middle-Earth: Shadow of War. Apparently it got slated at first because of a lot of microtransactions but, by the time I picked it up, they'd pretty much all been removed, so I had a great time

Skyrim on the 360 I must have been North of 200 hours
On the ps4 less so I could just never be bothered and don't get me started on psvr
LOTR shadow of mordor I got when it first came out I like the assassins creed feel of the mechanics but like AC it got very samey very quickly

I do feel like giving Skyrim another go sometimes, but games are coming thick and fast from next month: Horizon, Elden Ring, GT7

Yeah I don't have time to commit really to too big a game so anything that I know will take a hundred hours is just too daunting

This feels like the wrong game for VR if you ask me
But I am also in the boat of would love to play a highly modded Skyrim, but realistically have a game backlog of several thousand hours - it always makes me laugh when people try to make out that people desperately need BC from prior to the PS3 era, it's like do you have enough time to play old games that probably really won't have aged well, and will look sheet in anything more than 480p, and handle like a Skoda on ice? Don't get me wrong nothing wrong with the odd nostalgia hit for sure.

Yeh this year and next will be fine, it's gonna be 24 and beyond when sheet is really gonna become interesting, as by the sounds ofc MS want CoD/Wow etc but also all the other IPs associated with them. Who's up for a new Rock N Roll Racing?
