First time this season I have been

concerned by a match performance.

We have had a torrid time with injuries and Covid and I think our run of results over December are justifiably explained.

However, I am struggling to reconcile last night's performance against Brighton and it is worrying me.

There were so many poor performances on the pitch, even Kante was well below par, Azpi and Alonso were atrocious going forward and we seem to have regressed back to days under Frank when we turn promising attacking positions into backward passes to the Centre Circle.

We seem to be fearful of direct attacking play and when we do try it our passing is letting us down.

And what was the Ziyech goal scoring reaction all about? I hope that is just him being an idiot and there is nothing more to it because we won't miss him when he leaves this summer.

With no immediate prospect of James returning and no prospect at all of Chilwell returning this season our remaining WBs look nowhere near good enough and as a result we look suddenly quite ordinary.

Until last night I had no fear at all of finishing outside the top 3.

Now?............... Hmm.

Something seems to be afoot in the boiler room ,if you know what I mean Biggish ! When even Kante was all over the shop, and he was our best player,It seems that the dressing room isn't a happy ,jovial place.
If they carry on playing like they did last night, even that North London mafia might beat us this next week-end ,perish the thought !

I don't know Hale.

Joe Cole said before the City game that the atmospeher at Cobham was brilliant and that all the players he spoke with in the build up to that game did not have a bad word to say about him.

Post City of course TT was perhaps for the first time critical in front of the media about the front three Pulisic, Lukaku and Ziyech (justifiable so tbh).

I imagine he has been into those three sine the City game, but then he picked two of them last night. And they were poor again

18 games since 20th of November says it all. No one else has been forced to play that often so basically every game we’re up against teams fresher than us and it shows.

5 PL games where we have gone ahead and not won the game, can’t be a coincidence.

Need to sign replacements for Chilwell and James because Azpi and Alonso are not good enough.

Kante's past his best too.

Still a good player.

Kante still quality, all that running for Jorginho has resulted in him being injury prone.

I was there last night Biggish and apart the poor display, the most concerning thing for me, walking away from the AMEX, was that surely TT could see how poor the team were playing, yet he opted not to make any change until 10 minutes to go.

I hope that wasn't a Cont-esque gesture to send a message to the board over getting in reinforcements in this window!

Brummie...good point. He has usually been quick to change things when we play that badly. Hmmm
