Few things in no particular order.
DDG back to his best save wise but still does not command his area very well and his distribution is still poor. It is those elements that keep him from being as good as VDS and big Pete.
McFred, the trouble with both of them is that they have good moments but more horrible ones. Every game. And both are not quick at running.
The defence just can not seem to make simple passes when on the ball and not one of them seems capable of heading the ball to a team mate. Lindelof must have a head shaped like Kryten from Red Dwarf the way the ball pings at odd angles off it.
Ronaldo was pap again all but for one moment.
Bruno had his best game for a long while.
Telles is not as good attacking wise as Shaw and nowhere near as good in defence.
Dalot had a good all round game.

Are we forgetting the opposition? Redastomatoes has one of the lowest standards I’ve ever seen. Mctominay is not world class and never will be. He was very poor in the first half along with Fred and this was against a poor team. They are never consistent either for a full game. Fred has a garbage first touch and his passing is poor.
In the summer we need 2 top centre mids as the current ones are not good enough. One of Mcfred need to be sold also

"In the second half".
I rarely engage with you and with good reason. Try and read and understand. In that half he showed every single skill we needed from him. Tackles, drives from midfield, progressive passes, even had a drive and shot that would have not looked out of place if it was Gerrard. Might have been his best 45 min of football for me.

Agree with pretty much all of the OP.
Only thing I'd add is the game once again showed our players are lightweight in terms of holding on to the ball. Our midfield in particular were too easily dispossessed/robbed of the ball.
We also didn't win the majority of 50/50 challenges, especially in that first half.
Those fine details/margins impact massively on controlling the game or giving impetus to the opposition.
It's akin to being tight in your fielding in cricket, which either puts pressure on the opposition batsmen or hands them their confidence to play they want, and therefore the difference between winning and losing a game.

Good cricket analogy there mate.

We're just so careless on the ball at times.
When we give the ball away carelessly we put ourselves under unnecessary pressure. Just one dodgy pass can lead to a corner which gives the opposition a chance to create a phase of play where we're under pressure. We cut that out at half time midweek and looked better for it.

Still soar after the ashes lol.
Although it weren't just the fielding!

The Lindelof remark by VC made me remember way back in the day when one of the K Paddock regulars always referred to Gordon McQueen as '50p head' whenever an opposition cross came in

Do you really think he was doing that? If so you really need to take your head outside for a wobble.
