Finale

Nothing to do with the other two, both Liverpool based.
For two weekends while I was an estate agent I covered for an agent who was on holiday. I knew the sales director because I had sold a couple of their part exchanges, it was for Persimmon. It was an easy job and good money especially if I sold one.
It was in a cabin by the road side with a big carpark next to it. The first Saturday I heard some noises outside, went out and there were three lads about 12ish. They had made a sign saying car park cheap.
I was puzzled but then realised Pool were at home not far away, it worked they filled it at about two quid each.
I could have stopped it but said get me a Kitkat and we will call it quits. I expected two fingers, but got a four finger one, so spent the afternoon drinking coffee, eating the kitkat and listening to our match, cushy, and nobody could come in as the car park was full.

The other is probably apocryphal, and you may have heard it.
But when you parked near there the lads would say "look after your car mister" so you gave him a quid so it wasn't scratched when you got back.
One bloke had a dog in his car, and said it's alright no one's messing with this while he's here.
The lad looked in the car thoughtfully and said
"does he put out fires mister". He will have got his quid.

Now just to say this is not anti scouse, they were clever and funny lads, and I dare say it happens around lots of city grounds. A good laugh Liverpool, and loads of great people.

It happened to me at Maine Road in the 70's. Three kids about 10 years old asked for 50p to watch my car, which I duly gave them. A City fan drew up next to us and told the kids to "do one". Suffice to say my car was left untouched, his car had a bloody great scratch down it... all for 50p!!

Different version;

The car owner with the dog refused to pay the 50p.

When he came back after the match, the Alsatian was up on bricks.
