Liverpool signed Andy Carroll in December for a record breaking fee of £35million for the 22 year old, and have added the young 20 year old Jordan Henderon for £16million. Both calculate to £51million for two promising young England future hopefuls, with the players each signing a 5 year contract.
In 2007, Manchester Utd signed Owen Hargreaves for £17million, but unfortuanitly so far Hargreaves has only played 27 games for United, and is already 30. Man Utd could release Hargreaves this summer, meaning they fail to make back any of the money they have paid for Hargreaves, which includes a heavity wage bill. A year later United paid £30.75million for Dimitar Berbatov. Berbatov has recently improved his form this season, after two previous poor seasons as a bench warmer at United. Berbatov doesn't seem to be in United's plans, and could be sold this summer. United will struggle to remake the money invested in the 30 year old, with the highest price being touted, half what they paid.
So unlike Manchester United Liverpool have paid the same money for two promising English future stars aged 20/22, instead of paying the same amount for two 27 year olds (now both 30) who will struggle to remake the money spent on them.

Don't you all know that Man Ure and thier fans are forever right. No hypocrisy with Man Ure lemmings, they have a God given right to feel superior as they win trophies.
