I've read so many posts here the last few months about VDV messing up our team shape too much, and that he should be dropped. He always is the player that steps it up when we need him most, but yet a lot of you prefer him out of the team which I find ridiculous. Hope this keeps you all quiet for a while at least.

Adebayor missed more than Defoe did if you wanna be critical of strikers
I like VDV but only as a second striker, or whatever you wanna call it. On the right he just isn't good defensively.

Just glad Walker was playing as he was well equipped to chase back and do two jobs!
If Charlie was playing we would have been in trouble
End of the day we played a little average but WON!

Modric had a stinker
was awful yesterday
surprised we won tbh, we didnt play well and not many players stood out for us in midfield and attack
defence done a great job though

1st half was a terrible! but the 2nd half we really came out and looked sharp!
Adey was obviously affected by the chanting from the Arsenal fans

i think, given the extra body he gave us in the middle,he'll start playing sandro and 60's parker together more and more....
thats key thou for me,we now beat a 'top' side whilst not being at our best, when in the past,to beat them we had to be BANG on it....

Can you really call Arsenal a top side?

Junction..............Spot on!
I really do like VDV, however yesterday once he was replaced by Sandro, we looked a more fluid team and Arsenal's passing game was disrupted more.
The problem I have with VDV is that we have to play slightly different to accommodate him. The only way around it would be to leave out one of the strikers and play VDV off the other..........................and it would have to be Adebayor for me.
Sandro and Parker in the middle, which I suggested during the week is the best solution for us.
It allows either one to break forward whilst the other holds firm. Parker was excellent yesterday and his covering when Walker was forward was great.

lobsters-
well no,not right now,but you get my point.
with 60's and the beast sandro in the middle, our capacity to win ugly is far greater......
how different things coulda been had we got the everton game played, mainly 'cos everton are notorious slow starters, now it could be mid-season by the time it's rearranged.....
win that game in hand, and we will be in gr8 shape for that top 4 slot.....

We also have to remember that Modric was not at the races yesterday either....................that changed the dynamics of our play quite a bit.
Mind you, I don't know how many times he got taken out by Arsenal players without Mike Dean giving a free kick..................................
