Ok it’s only the Daily Fail but it would not surprise me for one moment if this is true.
You could argue it’s a stroke of marketing genius by the bald one, already in a £40M partnership with the NFL to host 2 games a season at NWHL and talking about an extension. The NFL are keen to promote American Football to a wider worldwide audience and have an established relationship with London. The NFL claim that hosting the Super Bowl generates £300M revenues for the hosting venue but obviously significant costs are also incurred.
The article also claims that Levy is holding out for a £400M 20-year deal for naming rights. Well the global publicity of hosting the Super Bowl might well lead to some sort of crazy deal.
But for me as a life long (and in latter years - suffering) fan it stinks of what is wrong with the heart and soul of our club.
I just cannot see the benefit to our football team in the short and immediate future (within 4-5 years) of doing this.
The only sliver lining in this particular cloud for me is that if Levy does pull it off then it may become attractive to some Billionaire somewhere, who has interest in OUR future as Tottenham Hotspur Football Club (unlike the present incumbents).

The debt is on long term financing.
---------------
Like a mortage you generaly end up paying twice what you loaned in the first place.

But unlike a mortgage the debt will generate revenues multiple times the cost of borrowing.

Of course it is Devon, but say you have a £100k mortgage and inherit or win say £60k, would you pay say £30k off (Reduce the debt?) Binge the rest on beer and hookers? (Our transfers these last 2-3 windows?)

I'd defo pissss 100k against the wall if I had a windfall....Levy and Co are smart financiers. There is a thing in economics known as an opportunity cost. Paying off debt saves some interest costs, but if investing can secure greater returns then that is the more valuable strategy. Debt is so cheap right now that investing will probably make more money.

And I’m sure Joe Lewis will appreciate the tax breaks the debt will allow.

Never will they hold the SuperBowl outside the US.
But I think Levy has been a genius in getting a deal done with the NFL.
I can only see good things coming Spurs way in the future.

4. Tottingham Ticklers soon become the No1 sporting team on the THFC Group sporting portfolio
5. All money generated from Tottingham Ticklers franchisee goes back into NFL team, and Spurs become nothing more than a skid mark on the THFC Group sporting portfolio.

Agree with Nielsen here. The NFL aspect of the ENIC portfolio and it being coded into the DNA of the new stadium has always worried me, and over time there is a real danger that whoever the owners are, whether ENIC or otherwise, their interests lie in an American football franchise rather than Tottenham. Might seem far fetched now, but long term it’s a real worry.

You would hope it wouldn't end this way but it's definitely a worry. Silver lining is most Sports Companies in USA own multiple franchise but they don't have relegation so they need to keep their eye on the 'soccer' aspect of their investment.
