Bournemouth v Forest - Match Thread

Whilst the play-offs continue to be a possibility, the automatic positions will certainly be beyond reach if we lose to Bournemouth.

A lot of stats:

Whilst Bournemouth have won the last three straight, that was against Barnsley, Birmingham and Blackpool. In the last eight weeks they have 5 wins, 3 draws and 5 losses...over 13 games. Their other wins against QPR and a pre-transfer window Cardiff.

We’re 7 wins, 3 draws and 3 losses. 24 points vs their 18 points. We both lost to Boro, with one of our losses against the brand new Cardiff. Not forgetting the Huddersfield game where we more than deserved something.

Over the last ten (not inc. the FA Cup) we are:

*6th in the form table (v 10th)
*3rd most goals for: 17 (v joint 13th: 13)
*8th joint least goals against v joint 8th with 10
*Forest over the last ten are 1.9 PPG
*Bournemouth are 1.6 PPG

Over the last six:

*Forest are W3 D1 L2 Away - GF 8 GA 5
*Bournemouth are W3 D1 L2 @ Home - GF 12 GA 6

The last time we played them we were very likely 24th. We lost 2-1. McKenna with the goal and Forest unable to capitalise on a man advantage.

Samba
Gabriel Figs McKenna Tutu
Yates Colback
Lolley Johnson Z.Nagel
Taylor

Only 5 of those likely to figure. Another bonus!

Prediction:

I think we can be optimistic going into this, but it’s a huge game for Horvath to come into. We have no injuries (except for Grabban) and team spirit rose to an all time high with the Yates equaliser. It’s a long trip, but one very familiar to Cook and Surridge.

As long as we protect Horvath I see us winning this 2-1. Surridge with a goal against his old club.

COYR!!!

I think I would play Colback with Yates. Either whay, for me, it's has to be Yates +1 in midfield. We really missed Yates last game (until he came on, that is). He is the most improved player this season under SC.

And I guess you would have Garner joining up with Johnson and Davis. I wouldn’t argue against any of the four main CMs. Colback was the first to suffer at the hands of an incompetent ref last time out and picked up an early yellow which restricted him a bit for the next 80 minutes. Zinc is clever and has subtlety; Garner started the season disappointingly but has become our best midfielder IMO.

It is only really on the flanks where we don’t have cover which is why Grabbs, and Colback have had to fill wide positions at times.

Anyone else feel it won’t go ahead tonight?

Down here in the West we're all hunkered down as the Americans say, the weather warning has just reduced from red to amber.

It's red in London, so the game may not go ahead?

Flattened all my garden pots some are almost to heavy to move normally.

It's postponed due to.....weather!

It's been hailstorminng here, what a day.

To be fair it’s been postponed because of damage to the stadium making it unsafe.

I do think it could have been called off as soon as the red warning was issued though and provisionally rearranged for tomorrow.

Called off??? - bunch of pansies these decision makers are 😑

A bit of wind, and all hell let’s loose - honestly this so called ‘storm’ has been built up as Armageddon by the media - down south where I live it’s almost completely gone

Sure it was blustery this morning, but is literally a bit of wind now - it’s almost totally blown over

It's been pretty nasty here Rev' everything is closed and the busses & trains are not running.

Yeah I know bear, it just seems that the worst has definitely blown over by midday down here - just wonder if Bournemouth were pushing for a cancellation as by time we get to play them now, they’ll have a few more of their star players available?
