DPL v Sheffield W

Wednesday have managed to remain in with a good chance of promotion without really hitting the headlines. After a poor year to end their time in the Championship, they have maintained cohesion without standing out and you might feel that with just a bit of extra effort they could occupy one of the play-off places. They have been either 7th or 8th for the majority of the campaign. Since the end of January their form sees them in 4th place in that Table with recent victories over other teams playing well like Ipswich, Wigan and Burton.

Although they beat Burton away, they have also lost by 5 at Sunderland as well as at Shrewsbury by the odd goal.

Looking at one of their forums, Wednesdayites reckon that their injuries are at such a level that they will be well below full strength with perhaps a decent midfield but no one to score goals in the team. However, although Moore receives only limited credit, particularly in his team selection and substitutions, he does seem to be tolerated. The mood is not confident though and I suspect that they overestimate our capability.

So we are not faced with a force that is invincible, but of course I need not explain why any team we play, especially recently, would not be planning the park the bus.

The ideal outcome for me would be Rovers to win and Mr Moore getting his P45 - (Brian Laws managed it in the SO'D era so you never know!!)

I think that they will have too much for us.😐
Rovers 0-2 Wednesday.
Hope that I'm as wrong as I was on Tuesday⚽

Interesting that Martin is on the bench. Hence my choice of scorer becomes Griffiths. Of course, I do not mind if Martin comes off the bench and scores a second goal!

The plan worked, but only partially and that is not good enough in a football match. We had a bit more possession than usual, but needed to take our chances and the fact is that teams like Wednesday just have far better players than most of ours. We have to win through greater application, which is not easy when so many players are not fully match fit.

Well done Crazy on getting the score right.

I think I got the result right for today's game

Our results may vary but what is consistent, and our biggest failing, is that we haven't got players who can retain or regain possession or pass accurately week in week out.

I think that you have given me too many pointz Donaldo 👍

It looked like we could have another smash and grab for some time, and if Olowu had taken his chance at 1-0, the game might have been somewhat different.
Then I watched Spurs do a smash and grab on Man City. However the big difference in that game was that despite the big difference in possession, Spurs had more shots on target than City. It was a very exciting Premier League game that makes one wonder what game do we play in League One!

The Wycombe v Cheltenham one might have been good to watch. Alfie May 8 goals in 4 games!

Thanks Mooli and Nookie. One omission - a common error and one formula error in Total points plus Pts B/F which is still my fault rather than Excel's of course.
