MATCH FACTS
Head-to-head
Leeds are winless in 11 matches against Liverpool in all competitions since a 2-1 league victory at Anfield in April 2001 (D3, L8).
Liverpool have won their three most recent Premier League home games against Leeds, scoring 10 goals in total.
The Reds have scored in each of the past 16 meetings in all competitions since a goalless top-flight draw at Elland Road in April 1999.
Liverpool
Liverpool have won eight consecutive matches in all competitions, including each of their last five in the Premier League.
They are unbeaten in 16 Premier League home games since March, winning the last seven in a row by an aggregate score of 20-2.
The Reds have the best defensive home record in the division, conceding seven goals this season.
Mohamed Salah has recorded 17 goals and nine assists in the Premier League in 2021-22. He has twice reached double figures for both - in 2017-18 and 2019-20.
Virgil van Dijk could equal Lee Sharpe's Premier League record of 59 home games played without ever losing.
Leeds United
Leeds have lost six of their past nine Premier League fixtures, earning just seven points during that period.
They could concede at least three goals in four successive league games for the first time since March 1960.
The 50 top-flight goals they have let in this season is only four fewer than in the entirety of 2020-21.
Leeds have won only one of their 12 league matches this season against a current top-half team, beating West Ham last month (D2, L9).
So the Match facts paint a pretty dismal picture but who knows what could happen on a Wet n Windy Wednesday night, really difficult to predict anything but a disappointing scoreline for us...........but I'll do it anyway 1-2 with Raph and Joffy scoring

Looking forward to your thoughts, Jonty. Where does Bielsa go from here?

ATBR….that comment really is goading Donn for a direct response 😒😒
Well, I said after Saturday, that a truly thinking manager would have taken the opportunity to try a fresh approach tonight, with nothing to lose.
So a more defensive approach might have allowed us to lose 2-0, and trying to play more on the break, or to give zonal marking a try:
Bielsa does have options; unlike almost all other managers , he just not prepared to implement them.
Guys…we cannot afford to go down.
I cringe at the stupid lack of analysis we will witness from some later, but are we at the stage where if Bielsa doesn’t go/change, we go down?
We simply are not out scoring the opposition.
The Newcastle game is the one Inwould vote to reinforce that point.
Personally, I’m seriously worried right now. Seriously.

I'm sorry but tonight was totally unacceptable. I would rather Bielsa left now with some honour and lets someone else take the reigns that will at least park the bleeding bus. This is just embarrassing and his reputation and legacy with us is getting tarnished game by game.
I can't think of too many that can immediately come to our aid other than ex wolves boss Nuno and maybe others can think of some other candidates but it's very serious we act now before it is far too late.

I know putting all the in Bielsa we trust sentiment asside and it's understandable he is adored and respected but I think we all can see his stubbornness is killing us and he has had plenty opportunities to adapt a more defensive approach but it is like he has some sado masochistic streak that enjoys the whippings we are getting each week. It's kamikaze football.

MB has OCD. He's compelled to plow on with his ideas to maddeninv levels of obsession. Its fantastic when it works. Horrific when it doesn't. But he persists regardless.

Its frustrating because we aren't even showing anything in attack. If you concede five but score four then its the same result, but at least you see why. Conceding six because we play attacking football with us scoring 0 and barely managing a shot on target is just ludicrous.

That' really intelligent of you. Did you think that up over a long period of time or was that off the cuff?
