DERBY COUNTY v MILLWALL UNITED...Championship # 33 |
7.45pm Pride Park Stadium Wednesday 23rd Feb 2022 |
FECK the EFL |
After missing the drama and emotion of Saturday, it may be a case of 'after the Lord Mayor's show' against Millwall. Another win be brilliant but looking at the squad surely fatigue will set in and these kids we are playing are just that - kids.
One for Heb here. Millwall fans are descended from the Scottish migrants who came to London to find work on the docks back in the day. Millwall came about from the windmills that powered the docks, visible on the walls of the docks -Windmill Walls - creatively shortened to Millwall because it was two syllables and not three which is difficult for fans of one of the two most delusional of clubs in London - the other being of course being West Ham.
I've only seen the replays of Tom's which aren't very clear but I've heard no dissent about the decision so I'll concur that he was very stupid. Stearman is available to come now but will he get in?
Always think crowds mid-week are a great barometer of the level of commitment to a club and it will be interesting to see the crowd numbers on cold Wednesday night up against the incredible attendances v Brum and Peterborough.
As I have eluded to fatigue of individual players could be our undoing. Trouble is trying to rest players when the squad is so threadbare. These kids are gonna need a rest and in the month of March, there is no respite.
Oh, and I will not be posting mendacious reports about scores like two of you posting 1-1 and 1-3 on Saturday.
