Is he a man city fan.
Spurs versus liverpool Royale takes out jota but kavanagh on var says no pen.
Today Rodri clearly handles below his t shirt sleeve yet kavanagh on var says no pen. City got a more dubious one versus wolves.
Maybe him and Craig pawson are city fan boys.
So Chris kavanagh

Premier League Match Centre said, “the VAR thought the footage was inconclusive, but on further review after the final whistle it ‘looks a penalty’” #EVEMCI

Did they really say that? Got to be demotions but for longer than just a week or two.

It’s not even a discussion. It’s a handball. How can professional officials not see this? Can that really be down to incompetence? You’d have to have never watched football to come to their conclusion.

Kavangh is the ultimate big club ref, if it had been Liverpool instead of Man City he still wouldn’t have given it.
No doubt if it was at the other end yesterday it would have been given. He can’t wait to help the big clubs, just go and watch all his other games

Kavanagh should be refereeing midtable battles to end of the season only now.
Can’t be trusted at either end of the table.

And all because he let your main rivals off the hook. How dare he do such a thing. But what about all the VAR stuff you DO get ? Like Salah passing the ball with his arm against Spurs which in the very next passage of play, you scored. Guess that ref that day was "spot on"

what the same day no pen for a blatant foul on Jota, and not even a card for what should have been a red card for Kane
He is just an awful ref

It was given as an offside wasn’t it? That’s what Tierney signalled for.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Doubt it.
Would have been shown otherwise.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It was given as offside. Just seen the Sky replay. Referee clearly signals offside after the VAR Check.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Must of missed the on screen VAR check for offside.
Oh wait, I didn't, because there wasn't one. 😅
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well the referee puts his hand up and motions a straight line across the pitch. I can't post the clip but he clearly gave offside and City a free kick.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nope just been confirmed on sky there was no offside.
Var ruled not enough evidence to give the pen
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So VAR ignored an offside in the build up and then were unable to get the penalty call correct.
Ultimately the correct decision was reached because the offside should nullify the handball.
What a farce though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What? 😅
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Based on what actually happened on the field of play, no penalty was the correct call.
However, VAR apparently wasn't looking at the offside. If that is the case then I fail to understand how they haven't awarded a penalty.
I would say that is somewhat farcical.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You are correct don't let them convince you otherwise.
VAR decided not to look at it. Sky showed it but quickly moved away from it. The lines prove Richarlison is offside in the build and it should never of got to the hand ball incident.

He didn’t pass the ball with his hand. The ball hit his upper arm and rebounded to another player.
Under the rules that isn’t a handball, as he didn’t control the ball with his hand/arm.
In Rodri’s case - he did.
As well as the Premier League match centre saying “it looks a pen”
As well as Clattenberg saying that it was a pen.
Bloke should be suspended until the end of the season, there’s battles going on for europe, relegation and league title. There’s no telling what mistakes he could make in any game, including sending someone off in a non critical game that bans them from the next matches.
How he didn’t even ask Tierney to look at the monitor is ridiculous. Hopefully the recordings get leaked so we can hear how insistent he was that the monitor doesn’t need to be brought into play.
