Mate, we won 1-2 at Brighton on 3rd Sept 1983.
Dixon was on the score sheet that day and i remember it well as it was the day i got married so couldn't go.
The 2003 is a reference to when Roman purchased the club and the myth we are all plastic. I was given my first Chelsea shirt by my gran in 1966 so i go back a bit.
Kerry Dixon scored 34 goals that season.

Hansen was very very good but still struggled to get in the Scotland side because miller & mcliesh were a partnership. He was still a smooth operator. Little pace in the legs but lots in the head. Watched him at thistle too. Was always strolling it.
Tough to compare different eras but vvd is probably better imho.

I think Van Dijk is the best defender the PL has seen.
From 2018-2020 he was clearly the stand out defender in world football, not just PL.
But the most remarkable thing about him is that after an entire season out, he’s come back and has once again, in my eyes, staked his claim as the best.
Truly astonishing given the magnitude of the injury.
But it’s also how he plays the game. The man reads just about everything perfectly, scores goals, acts as a quarterback in many instances with those searching balls to Salah.

As someone who remembers our 80s teams I thought Lawrenson was a very good defender. It was a shame he was injury prone. Hansen was all about reading the game and good build up.

Michael Owen on Virgil van Dijk:
“I have never ever seen, in my lifetime, I don’t think I have seen a better defender. I have played against some great defenders. I don’t see what he can’t do.
“He plays in second gear and it’s too easy for him. The game is easy for him.
“He is lightning fast. Brilliant on the ball. Scores goals. A beast in the air. He reads the game. A leader. I don’t know what he doesn’t do. I don’t think I have seen a better defender. He could be one of the greatest of all time.” #LFC [liverpool echo]

Were Rudiger and Silva exposed cause Liverpool created chances they didn't take? Ffs it gets more ludicrous every time I think about it.

Yes of course they were. A team gets in behind u and ur team is exposed. Liverpool play such a way the space between the two cbs is huge.

Again this is more, as mamba has said, due to Liverpool’s set up, the space havertz and mount kept getting in behind the cbs was a by product of this. My original comment was basically that.
