On Thursday Wolves welcome Watford to Molineux, their 4th game in a row against a London side having lost the previous three.
Wolves loss to Crystal Palace on Saturday was the second time they have lost three in a row during Bruno Lage’s time as manager having lost the first three games of the season.

Wolves are clinging on to 8th place in the league despite their poor run of form, the fan’s dream of European football fading with each defeat. Had the losses to West Ham, Arsenal and Crystal Palace been wins, Wolves would currently be in 4th place in the table, above Man U and with a game in hand.
The next 5 games against Watford, Everton, Leeds, Villa and Newcastle would have looked like the chance for a run of games with plenty of points to win. Now they look like 5 banana skins.

Watford are sitting second bottom in the table with 19 points having won only 5 games all season. However they have still managed to score 3 more goals than Wolves.
Watford come into the game on the back of a 2-3 home defeat to Arsenal on Sunday.

Gem’s prediction: 1-1

With Jonny able to play on either side, when Semedo is back we have our rotation in wing backs and should be able to rest any one of them without a drop in quality.

Real boost to have Jonny, Boly and Neto back to add to a squad that have took us to 8th without them. And Chiquinho looks a good wild card to use from the bench. Bruno finally has genuine selection dilemmas when everyone is available and the opportunity to rotate.

Watford didn’t make it hard for us primarily by not pressing in our half so the defenders were rarely under pressure and Neves and Moutinho had time on the ball. But what was good was how we punished them and no doubt having Jonny and Ait Nouri as wing backs was a massive step up compared to Hoever and Marcal in the last couple of games. Raul doesn’t attack balls in the air in the same way he did before his injury but the quality of his centre forward play still makes him an essential part of the team. My only negative on the night was Hwang who continues to underwhelm me. Did well to contribute to the first goal but did little else. No brainer to replace him with Neto whose game was clearly coming together in the latter stages.

Clean sheets AND goals is a nice combination. Let’s hope that’s a sign of what’s to come

Have to say the press stories saying Neves could be available for £40m are laughable. When you look at some of the players that have cost more than that he is surely worth double that amount. No exaggeration to say he is one of the best midfield players in the Premier League.

He won no end of tackles in midfield last night, his distribution to the wing backs was impeccable, and he looks more mobile this season and is becoming more of a box to box player.

And that goal was just sensational. Memories of a chipped goal Cantona scored for Utd many years ago

Neves hands down has to be in the £80m bracket.... not just for his absolute quality, it's the cost of replacing him also, as there's not many midfielders that play his role these days, he's our Pirlo and without exaggeration

you will all be pleased to hear that I am indeed missing the next one as well

I'm sure we could come to some arrangement to make it worth your while to stay away for an extended time ?
Say till when we've qualified for the CL

Romain Saiss turned down the offer of an extended contract last summer and his current contract expires at the end of June. Wolves have evidently now made him a final offer of an extension but the player is looking to be made up to being in line with the best paid players at the club. It seems he already has offers from clubs in Europe and beyond if he decides to move on

As far as I'm concerned all senior first teamers should be paid the same. They are members of a team, the win as a team, they lose as a team and they should be paid as a team.

Not really but it seems like common sense to me. Put all players on the same basic flat rate then introduce a goal bonus and an assist bonus for all players and a clean sheet bonus for the keeper and defenders. That should focus their concentration

Not really gem. If we paid Neves the same as Marcal or Hwang he’d be off to Man Utd tomorrow. He is worth £80m and the others £10m for a reason. And good defending and attacking is something the whole team contributes towards not just the back 3 and the guy that puts the ball in the net
