Andrew Taylor

I kind of assumed that like Carlos Corberan did in the past, Mark Jackson would continue in a dual role, 1st team coach and U23's coach, actually I assumed he had that role already under Bielsa to ensure that all teams played a similar way, obviously with the emphasis on his role as U23's coach.

Apparently that isn't the case. Andrew Taylor is the new U23's coach.

Taylor (35) was predominantly a left back he played 125 times for Middlesbrough, 103 times for Cardiff and 80 times for Bolton, he also had spells at Wigan and was on loan at Bradford City, Watford and Reading. He represented England at every level from U16 up to U21. He retired as a professional in 2019.
Following his retirement from professional football, he was 1st team Coach under Phil Parkinson at Sunderland until 29th November 2020, when Parkinson was sacked. Taylor was acting manager at Sunderland until the appointment of Lee Johnson on 5th December.
Taylor joined Leeds as Loans Manager on 5th August 2021.

I have no idea what a loans manager does.

Welcome to the hot seat Andrew.

Oh and well done on steering the team to qualification in the Premier League Cup.

Looking at the team sheet for me that was more than impressive. Those boys would have felt the changes also and could have lost focus.

As you say. well done.

A loans manager serves as a liason for players that are out on loan. They make sure they are cared for and looked after, and offer personal support to the players.

Any idea who is taking on Taylor’s old role, or is he retaining it until the end of the season?
