Whilst I have not wanted to see the Chelsea fans punished because of their owner, they did themselves no favours over the weekend.
Displaying a banner showing Ambramovich and the fans chanting his name in the 65th minute shows a lack of class and a total disregard for what is currently happening in the Ukraine.
I expect that the vast majority of their fans will condemn the above mentioned and will want to distance themselves from this.
If as is expected, the sale takes longer than 2 weeks this could plunge Chelsea into administration and a 9 point deduction. This would create major problems as the club have a MONTHLY wage bill of ยฃ28 million and any income will be way below that figure which could mean further sanctions if they are unable to pay their staff.
One of my concerns in this are the staff, Chelsea employ in the region of 500 people excluding the players. Most of these are people doing important jobs such as cleaning, maintenance and catering. Most of the players are extremely well off and it will only be a minor inconvenience for them if they are not paid. Remember also if they are not paid, they could be in a position to walk away and claim breach of contract. They could then negotiate vast signing on fees with other clubs.
The general staff are potentially the real casualties of the sanctions. I personally think that there should be some allowance made so that their wages can be ring fenced going forward. Although I am not sure how this would work.
Also I do not wish for Chelsea to be wound up and thus see them unable to fulfil both matches and their financial liabilities.
Reprehensible

That's why it is funny when people say we won't compete without extra money from Roman.
Now we are a mega club (thanks to Roman and Jose) we generate enough revenue to be sustainable
----------------------------------------------------------------------
According to reports CFC has a wage bill of £28m a month, their current finances indicate that after the end of this months payments they will not have enough money to run the club, which then means they will be insolvent.
This then turns into administration and an inevitable 9 points deduction, which could be more if this scenario continues for longer.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Desperate Talksport Daily Mail bedwetting
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep, complete nonsense. Surely nobody thinks that Chelsea are facing any sanctions points wise when the money is actually there and it is the authorities blocking it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly. The bed wetting will stop when we get a decent owner and carry on being an elite club, which we have done whilst balancing the books over the last decade.
People forget that the main part of Roman's largesse was 2003-13

Actually you are wrong:
But with its stars costing almost £28million ($37m) a month in wages, and the most recent accounts showing reserves of £16million, the club would burn through that cash in 17 days because they are now banned from raising any funds from tickets and merchandise, worth at least £600,000 per match day alone.

I haven’t changed the narrative, I have however responded to posters who continue to ignore facts surrounding Abramovich & how he acquired his money.
I still question why the club cannot be allowed to carry out normal trading whilst looking for a new buyer. This could be done by imposing strict oversight on what money is spent and under the condition that no money goes to Abramovich or to any organisation outside of the U.K.

Middlesbrough chairman Steve Gibson told the Athletic
: "Chelsea and sporting integrity do not belong in the same sentence.
"Where is the intellect of Bruce Buck, the chairman of Chelsea, who has been an apologist for his owner, where the trophies won over 19 years have come from the corrupt money provided by Abramovich?" Gibson added.
"Where is the intellect of the chairman of Chelsea when it comes to playing his games at home in front of his season-ticket holders? Does he want to play all his away games at empty stadiums?
"Abramovich has been kicked out of football and Bruce Buck should be kicked out of football too."

There is simply no justification for singing RA name. I don't care how guilty or not guilty he is in regards to the Ukraine war. The question is why would anyone choose to sing his names ahead of singing a supportive song for the victims of the war?
