Kilbane to miss next 2 Euro Qualifiers

I heard on the car radio this morning that Kevin Kilbane is likely to miss Irelands next 2 Qualifiers against both Andorra and Armenia.

Is this a positive or a negative?

For: Kevin Kilbane has a wealth of experience at International level. This could prove vital especially for the tricky home match against Armenia. He also gives his all and plays with pride everytime he pulls on his beloved Green jersey.

Against: Kilbane is a spent force at International level. He is no longer good enough to perform at the highest level and is becoming increasingly error prone. Many ROI fans point the finger at him for our failure to secure automatic qualification for the WC 2010 Finals as a result of some of his very costly errors.

If he is not available for selection i would hope Trapatonni starts Ward instead.

I do agree that kilbane could well have cost us automatic qualification for 2010 although i do think he played well in most of the opening six games this time around. Have to look to the future though.

Kilbane has been finished for years, he was never particularly good even at his so called peak. He's not even a left back, has zero attention span and it deies all logic that he's amassed the amount of caps that he has. All he ever does is hoof the ball up the field without even looking where its going, no pace, absolute liability!!! This at a time when we have 3 premiership left backs in Mark Wilson at Stoke, Marc Tierney at Norwich and Stephen Ward at Wolves. Pity our manager couldnt be bothered watching players and just sticks by embarrassing non entities like Kilbane. Its a blessing in disguise if Kilbane is out as dinosaur Trap would have picked him and he'd prob have cost us victory in at least one of our two remaining games!!!

Has Tierney declared for Ireland Len? Seems he's having a great season so far with Norwich.

Tierney was at United as a youth, think his grandparents are from Wicklow. He's there for the taking if we want him. He's hardly gonna displace Ashley Cole or Leighton Baines for England

Would not have played one way or the other, he's worn the jersey for the last time, praise the lord.

Good news for sure. Zinedine is finished at international level surely after this. He has been a great servant over the years but he's been way off the standard required for some years now. The only problem is Ward looked shaky against Slovakia and Russia.
