Huge game tonight for our top 4 prospects. If my calculations are correct (as always 😒 ), by the time we play Arsenal we could and should be ahead of them in the table and that game will be crucial in deciding who gets 4th.
Of course Spurs could get 4th too but let’s just pretend they don’t exist for a moment here.
Arsenals next 5 games (and predictions)
Villa away (today) - D
Palace away (4th April) - D
Brighton home (9th April) - W
Saints away (16th April) - D
Chelsea away (20th April) - L
Our next 4 games
Leicester home (2nd April) - W
Everton away (9th April) - W
Norwich home (16th April) - W
Liverpool away (19th April) - L
So if the results go that way both sides will be on these points before our game with Arsenal on 23rd April
United - 59 points
Arsenal - 57 points
Arsenal will still have a game in hand but away at Spurs.
It’s on 😎 Let’s be Villa fans tonight and hope Coutinho continues his magic spell.
Villa vs Arsenal (And it’s liiiiiiivve!)

Sorry to burst your bubble. If we get fourth you'll have to say we deserve it. Today's game is perfect example of what we can do. First half we played some nice stuff should of been further ahead. Second half we had to dig in and defend properly which we did. Can you honestly see United pulling out a performance like that? Didn't you give a two goal lead away to Villa earlier in the season.

I didn’t see most of the game so can’t really comment, but the Villa team and crowd I saw today for last 20 was soooo flat compared to when they came back to draw 2-2 with us. They were well up for it then. Not so much today. You did alright but they weren’t really at it. Still going to be twists and turns… maybe, although I expect us to lose next game at home to Leicester and be well and truly out of it

Utd are a finished club!!!

Yeah it's inconceivable that Arsenal played well enough to make villa more flat than vs Utd. It must be because villa decided not to be as up for it today.

Arsenal are better than us, it's clear as well. Our only hope is that they get key injuries.
Fair play to Arteta, it's been a rough ride but they've settled on a team and style which can compete with any in the league and will beat most, whether home or away.

Arsenal are just more clinical. They create very few clear chances every game. They sort of remind me of an LVG side as they have LVG assistant, bore the opposition to death and try and get a goal.

I honestly think if we had Martial and Greenwood we would be 3rd. Our problem is we can’t finish. Its a shame we thrown away top 4 as we can’t finish. Honestly think if we picked 4 strikers from any other club in professional football, they would have done a better job at scoring goals this season.
Arsenal have been scoring a lot of goals out of nothing while we miss sitter after sitter against the same teams.

Hate to burst your bubble re this whole, taken more points than anyone bar Liverpool or city since ralf took over thing.
But after today Arsenal are above you from when Rangnick took charge, and have played a game less in that time.
So the team that you’re trying to overtake has taken more points in that period than you in less games, and still has a game in hand on you in the league as well.
You’re not catching them Robb

But you've got the greatest goal scorer in the game and one of the top marksman for the last few years in Cavani and that hasn't made a difference, was Greenwood or Martial banging in the goals before they were made unavailable?
You obviously want United to be performing better but they are where they are for a reason and its not because they can't score its because they can't defend either.

This is not a matter of finishing, Arsenal are better all round as a collective.
They work harder, they are better organised, they move the ball quicker, with more accuracy, they are more aggressive etc.
Discipline is probably the biggest issue with the first 11 but they're hardly going to get a man sent off every week (for most sides, their best hope of stopping them).
Odegaard and Bruno almost sum it up. Bruno, all over the place but can conjure up a moment of quality out of the blue. Odegaard still very creative but a far better team player in his commitment and work-rate as well as his decision-making (choosing to retain the ball until it's the right time to go for the killer ball).
