Next weekend

So I think fair to say we got the two expected outcomes today from the games (gb aside 😜).

So it sets things up perfectly for a blockbuster next weekend. Appreciate there are huge champs league ties for both sides between now and then but its impossible not to look ahead now.

So how do we see it? For me neither side "must win". Id say "must not lose" only applies to us. Even if we win city cannot be discounted with what would be a 2 point gap, we know that all too well from 13/14.

I personally think it will be a draw. I think its still come a tad too early for either side to try and go for the jugular. Had this been 2 or 3 games to go I reckon it would be all out for the win both sides.

Not saying either side wont try and win it, of course they will, its the way they play but I do reckon if its cagey, level with 15 to go, both might just accept the point and let it play out over the remaining 7.

Set up to be a cracker. Im going 1-1.

City win and its 4 points gap with 7 to go. That's a massive gap given its city and would require 2 city draws plus us gaining more gd.

Liverpool win and its a 2 point lead with min +6gd with 7 to go. 6 wins and 1 draw required. Games are tougher than city's but its on.

Draw and its 1 point difference with city-5 on gd so it's a straight race to the end where any city draw means Liverpool need 7 wins.

If city win next week I'd feel they have one hand on the trophy. 4 points in 7 games looking at their fixtures would be very difficult

Real tainted feeling about the season now. Knowing there’s dirty money in the game just makes it feel wrong.

When are you going to get that you’re despised on here, and very unwelcome?

Id say......if either side wins...that side also wins the league.

For me..if city dont win then i think we will win the league too..so a draw or win for liverpool and its our league imo.

. Perfect response Mellor.

Relating to your OP, It is going to be a massive fixture.

If Liverpool win, then considering the points gap that City had over Liverpool would then have been vanquished (with Liverpool not only catching up but overtaking City), then Liverpool will go on to win the title in my opinion.

If City win, then Liverpool will simply got at it again.

Regardless of the result, Liverpool currently have the psychological advantage. I do feel that City need the win a lot more than Liverpool do in this respect.

For me, a positive result for Liverpool and you’ll go on to win the title. A positive result for City, and it could still go either way.

Liverpool are a juggernaut at the moment, bit between the teeth, etc etc.

Got to say id agree with moreinjured below. If you guys win I cant see anyway back from a 4 point deficit. Thats why its a must not lose for us.

There will defo be some twists along the way. I obviously hope im proved wrong but I cannot see us winning all our remaining games, that would mean 18 straight wins, cant see it. I think the champs league will play a part.

anything but a win for liverpool and all the momentum thats been built up comes to a halt, not impossible to win the league, but it becomes a lot harder

hopefully trent is back, liverpool at full strength is tough for anyone to deal with
