Simeone

Claims it was a bad result because they lost when they were aiming to win.

Aiming to win how exactly? with 10 defenders and the keeper?

Through screaming at the ref to get City players sent off?

Through feigning injury to the face?

I wouldn't want to pay to watch them every week.

I’ve always hated him since he got beckham sent off and admitted he conned the ref

There has only been one 0-0 between Simeone's Atletico and English opposition. This was his very first match against the English back in 2014 before he was able to get the team scoring goals.

Since then, there have been 12 matches between Atletico and English teams, every match has had goals, with Atletico having more wins than English teams (up until last night). Atletico had also scored more goals than their English counterparts.

Maybe it is the English that are the negative nancies.

Simeone's Atletico have also scored more goals this season than Spurs and United, despite United having the GOAT and Spurs having the new Maradona. There are fewer goals in La Liga overall than in the PL so defences are stronger.

Simeone's free scoring side have been a joy to watch. Unlike Conte's negative Spurs who play Kane in midfield because he can't score goals anymore.

Watched the highlights on bt aports yourube and it was just a showreel of man city dives looked very desperate. As for AM n Simeone didnt expect any diff, and him refusing shake hands at end runs off down tunnel annoys me too, fk does he think he is.

Yeah it seems Grealish was brought on to throw himself to the ground and hold his face. It wasn't nice to see but Pep teams have been doing that for years, long before Simeone came along as a manager.

Joao Felix is so wasted in that team of thugs and pickpockets

He’d flourish at City

Exactly what I thought. Perfect fit. Athletico are boring, that's the way they are. It works well for them. They are also dirty beggars, and that is much less forgivable. Non stop gamesmanship and time wasting from the first minute.

Also might add did you notice him applauding Rodri at one point last night? I did. Bet he wishes he played for Pep.

Must admit, They know how to plug the gaps and annoy attacking teams. Wound up Klopp 2 seasons ago and we cant fall into the same trap. Was happy we got the home tie first as it would mean they start the second leg chasing the game meaning they cant afford to play 2 banks of 5 for long periods in the match.

Say what you want about Simeone but his Atleti side got a result against Bayern and that Bayern team was Peps finest team, as good as his best Barca side.

They need the first result to go their way and then blank out the second leg. Thats how they beat Liverpool, who lost the first leg 1-0 and then were sucker-punched into losing the return leg 2-3.

They are on the backfoot now and last nights 1-0 win changes everything. They have not won in their last 7 CL home matches. If they make it a shoot-out next week they will lose.

A difficult watch is putting it lightly. You would need to pay me to have a season ticket at the Metropolitano.

they haven't played like that in la liga this season
they've been much more attacking and poorer at the back

they play with 10 men behind the ball in europe against the big teams
