Huge game this weekend. Terrible build up from both sets of fans on here so I thought I'd encourage some respectful and thought-provoking debate
Here is my combined XI of arguably two of the greatest sides this league has seen
----------------Alisson
Trent - Matip - Van Dijk - Robertson
---------------Fabinho
---De Bruyne----------Thiago
Salah -------- Jota ---------- Mane
Combined XI

Not in a possession based team like City. Perfect for a team that breaks quickly like Liverpool, but Mahrez ability to trap a ball and keep possession suits City better. Mahrez wouldn't make the Pool team though, not as quick on the break.
There are times when City refuse to break quickly, even against teams like AM who then have time to park a whole fleet of buses, I find that very frustrating.

Get what you mean Bomdia but our possession stats are second to only city so we're often the possession based team Not many opportunities to break quickly vs parked bus tactics unfortunately.
As Pep said
"We know we are going to defend parts and sit back. Not because we want but almost impossible for what they do," said Guardiola. "They make the pitch wider and higher, quality in the middle. Four, five years ago they were more direct, not too much between the lines.
"Now they have a good build up with Alisson, [Joel] Matip, Thiago drops. Threats in behind, [Trent] Alexander-Arnold is like an exhibition, deep runners in behind.

Think you've gotta put another City player in the team to make the WUM less obvious

Fair play Citizens
Probably Rodri's best game I've seen him play
