I am aware of the Wagner group and the rusich unit. These operate in exactly the same way as azov, aidar and dnipri 1 in Ukraine.

They don't quite operate in 'exactly the same way' though, do they? They have been used extensively as death squads in Syria and multiple African countries, as well as providing a highly trained core in the original 'separatist rebellion' in Donbass and now in the wider invasion of Ukraine. It has been linked to the assassination of journalists. Wagner Group might be structurally similar to the origins of Azov as a private organisation operating with a slightly ambiguous relationship to the state. But I think the context of what they are actually doing kind of matters. One is engaged in defending its country from merciless invaders. The other is killing civilians in support of an imperialist state, and of its proxies.

They are exactly the same.

These organisations have the same remit. And do exactly the same thing. Amnesty and OHCHR have highlighted the atrocities by these Ukrainian militia. They are cants.

The self defence and defending narrative doesn't wash their atrocities. If anything it's the chickens coming home to roost.

Didnt see Ukrainians destroy 61 hospitals in one country. Also didnt see Ukrainians bomb maternity clinics. Also didnt see Ukrainians send rockets into a train station with refugees.

It surprises me that some people are surprised.
