Why sack Emery and then accept this

I can't believe what I have been watching under Arteta since he arrived at the club.

We have had some scandalous results against poor teams, knocking us out in Cup competitions during his reign. We have consistently lost against all the big teams under his management and now we are going into our 3rd season without CL football under this manager.

I was all for sacking Emery at the time and thought the club had set a precedent but clearly they haven't.

How has Arteta been given so much rope? Deciding not to buy in Jan, sell Auba and then go into the remainder of the season, 1 or 2 injuries away from collapse has been complete neglence from Arteta and the board.

Even if we finish 8th again, Mr Arteta will still be our manager next season.

I just don't get it

You won’t finish 8th, those games in hand could take you above Chelsea into 3rd remember

What happened

What is this shiiiit about catching Chelsea. I would imagine 99.99999% of Arsenal fans never expected to (or cared) about finishing above Chelsea. 4th place would have been a very good season for us. Still possible but it looks like we’ve blown it.

Even if we lose all our remaining games, Titler will probably get another season from this clueless board. The only positive to take from not finishing top 4 is that it will hopefully end any new contract talk with him (and Crapazette)

I had commented recently that we should never underestimate the ability of THIS Arsenal side to totally mess up the opportunity to finish in the top-4! Looks like I may have been right, and the cost to the club will be in the millions of pounds and should, at last, cost Arteta his job as manager.

This team has no spark, no energy, no goal scorers, no leaders, and they have a manager who continues to make a fool of himself on the sidelines with his "real time" coaching hysterics! Spurs are head and shoulders more deserving of a top-4 spot than this bunch and they are playing like they want it.

Sadly, it looks like it is time to re-start the "5 year" plan, get rid of the underachievers on this team, get a good manager and re-build this team from the bottom up!

Most of us said in January that CM/ST's were vital, even if they were only stop gaps.

A small percentage said we shouldn't settle for stop gaps and should not sign anybody if the right player wasn't available. The club shared this position hence a long drawn out process of pointlessly bidding for Vlahovic and ending up with nothing.

We all agreed that from there on the season would be decided on a gamble of everybody staying fit. The gamble has backfired. The squad is too thin.

Personally I don't blame Arteta for that because recruitment sits above him. The season is dead however, absolutely dead.

And a large percentage of Arsenal fans (yourself included) were desperate for us to bin our only recognised goal scorer simply because our manager didn’t know how to get performances out of him.

All you have to do is look at how Kane and Son’s form have transformed under a competent manager, in comparison to Auba’s form deteriorating under the ego of his manager when asking why we won’t finish top 4 (if we don’t). Scoring goals has been a problem all season, even on our good run.

We'd have got nothing out of Aubameyang this season, he's completely irrelevant.

Not replacing him in the squad was the killer.

And what if Conte came in and got him playing like he has done with Son and Kane?

Also got nothing out of him? Since Auba was banished, our strikers have scored 2 PL goals between them, both penalties. Do we honestly believe Auba’s output would have been any worse, even hamstrung by Titler’s tactics?
