Getting to the Ground Question

Hi All,

Hope you're all safe and well!

Just a quick one that I'm hoping a few of you on here may be able to help with - I live in the midlands and have a concert booked at the Eventim Apollo on Tuesday 10th May, staying over nearby until Wednesday. I have the whole of the Tuesday off so have planned to travel down early so I can do the stadium tour while I'm down, which is something I've been wanting to do since it's been built (I went to the old WHL a few times but haven't been to the new one completed yet, saw it under construction in 16/17).

So I've now booked the tour for around midday. My train from Birmingham arrives in Euston at around 10:30am so I'm hoping I've left myself plenty of time to get to the ground (and I won't mind if I'm really early, plenty of time to look around the shop etc) - just looking for some advice on where to head from that point - i.e. which tube lines to head to, which station is best, which type of ticket would be best to get. Is there a 'day pass' which I could get which would allow me to get to the ground, then maybe back to Euston and also cover the lines I'd need to go to to get to the Eventim arena sort of area? I've obviously tried to look up as much of all of this that I can myself but it is surprisingly hard to gauge.

Finally, I've read good things about the tour on trip advisor and seen videos on YouTube, anyone here done it? Anything to look out for?

Any advice would be much appreciated - thanks!

How about tickets, is there like a day ticket that can be used on all journeys?

Don't go to Seven Sisters, go to Tottenham Hale and walk. Stop in The Volunteer for a beer (in glass rather than plastic) on the way.

interesting

i know this is a weird question to ask as going to a football match but what are the crowds like at that pub compared to like others near the ground

I have never been to the Volunteer on matchday, but used to go to that pub quite a bit back in the day. Nice little locals pub tucked out of the way, and used to be a very decent Governor in there. Not very big inside, but decent beer, and good service.

Hi mate,

It does get busy on matchday to be fair but its not one of those pubs where people are singing etc. The people who own it have owned it for as long as I know. Its a local pub basically. As I say, the fact you get your beer in a glass is a winner and the guinness is decent if you like that. We have some Irish lads in our group and they like the guinness in there.

I'd probably compare it a little to the Crown and Anchor the Edmonton side of the stadium if ever you have been in there.

Travel card gets you to Seven Sisters and then overground from there to White Hart Lane, which is 5 minutes walk from stadium.

Anyone travelling for Brighton game from north of Milton Keynes, the Euston line is closed for works. Going to be chaos all round, with FA Cup Semi at Wembley means roads and other trains could be extremely busy.
