Touch of a Lucas

Is it me or has his first touch got increasingly worse.

He really can't play centrally or receive the ball with his back to opponent. For me this means his only role should be RWB ro RM. He needs the ball in space or when he's unmarked so he can run at the left back otherwise I think his days are numbered.
