Both Arsenal and United play twice

more before Spurs kick a ball. In fact it will mean that they will have both played three games each since Spurs last kicked a ball. If Spurs are still in 4th position when then face up to Brentford in the 17.30 kick off on Saturday evening, that surely has to be a massive boost to the side.

It goes without saying that we need both Liverpool and Chelsea to win this week, then the weekend game between Arsenal and United at the weekend, will become virtually a must win for both, and a loss for either, would effectively knock them out of contention with the games running out. A draw would be the best result for Spurs.

Interesting week`s football coming up.

I must say I'm feeling pretty relaxed. Maybe as relaxed as I've ever been around a top 4 race with us in it. You look at the fixtures and it really is in our favour, from the next games coming up for Arsenal and United, to the final games, where we'll play a probably already relegated Norwich.

Our last 2 games are against Burnley and Norwich, who could both be relegated by then. It really is looking all in our favour. United's last 2 games are away to Brighton and Palace so not easy, while Arsenal have Newcastle away and Everton at home.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't think it matters if teams are relegated, if Spurs themselves don't turn up. Brighton had absolutely nothing to play for at the weekend, but played as if their lives depended on it. Spurs had everything to play for, and decided to play as if they were on their holidays.

Well no, but Brighton can be decent. If you're playing the worst team in the league AND they're already relegated then you can only expect so much. Sure, some might look to when a relegated Newcastle beat us, but our heads had dropped before that after losing the title race.

The wingback issue is a real problem for spurs. They don’t have any fit. It’s no coincidence that we went on a run when Doherty found form, all creativity in contes system comes from the wingbacks

Royal is simply not a wingback and after 5 months of conte, has shown no progress

Reggie isn’t a wingback. I’m not entirely sure what he is.

Sess is made of glass

Doherty is out for the season

Real problem for spurs

Reggie said in an interview recently he’s never played left wingback before and is still learning the position

Well Sandy, Liverpool trounced ManU....so that's one leg up for us.
Now lets see if we can do something for ourselves, and by ourselves, like win a game!

Ted, good result tonight for Spurs, but when you say let's see if Spurs can win a game, haven't they won four out of their last five, and turned 8th place into currently 4th. I will take that for now.

Spot on mate. People are so quick to suddenly bring on the doom and gloom. So we lost to a decent Brighton team, and yes were "not at it". but one poor result at a time when our nearest rivals are falling over each other to lose, whilst we have won 5 from 6 hardly calls for the negative outlook.
I mean, come on, after watching the toxic that is Utd last night, does any Spurs fan currently feel we are worse and "just need to win a game" Seriously ?

Have, again revisited the respective run ins and cannot see Utd getting more than 7 points from here on in, with Arsenal a maximum of 10 points, and that with a draw in the NLD.

So ignoring goal difference for a moment, I think we need 65 points to be absolutely sure, or 64 if there is not a goal difference swing of around 10/12 goals.
Not included West Ham in the equation as they have a set of difficult fixtures, have played more games, are 5 points behind us and have Europe to distract them.

So 8 points from our remaining 18 points available. Forgetting the Liverpool game, that leaves us with five winnable games to achieve 8 points.

Unless the Brighton game is what we will see from now on, rather than a blip, then I am reasonably relaxed. To be honest it looks like we could get 4th, not because we need to be great, but just consistent and watch our two rivals continue with their awful current form.

Brentford away will be no gimme, they are safe and can play with no fear, they have nothing to lose which makes for a dangerous opponent. On the flip side they could be already on the beach or complacent. Hopefully Eriksen does us a favour and has a stinker.

The problem is CONSISTENCY.
We can beat ManCity and lose to Burnley and Middlesboro.
We can hammer Everton and beat Brighton and then go lose to Brighton.
Do you get it now?
If we want 4th spot while we have the chance, this squad has got to back Conte and turn up in a winning mood.
Why don't fans on here understand the meaning of the word CONSISTENCY?

Moreover, I will give Tottenham an even chance in upcoming matches of
1. beating Liverpool and
2. losing to the Arsenholes.
This squad is just that idiotic!
