Contes one size fits all when it comes to formation is uninspiring. Especially that the system relies on WBs of which we have none. Never thought I’d say we badly miss Doherty. That match around the 55’ minute mark was crying for going to a back four and adding creativity in midfield. He didn’t react. I think some of our players are also playing at 50% now. All in all disappointing.

A peak Walker and Rose would have made a difference to the way Conte sets up but that level of players are kinda thin on the ground atm.

Was just saying your CM options could do with upgrading but that costs a fair few quid to do, to be fair your two new players have been decent up till now

Yeah that’s it both rose and Walker in their prime for spurs was juggernauts. They would be the perfect types for this system.

In games like that Contes low press is useless without creative MFs. I find it boring if I’m honest. But for every game like that there is a great performance like the Newcastle or WH games which for me makes it even more frustrating.

Assuming ‘2’ is the average score for our players…

Hugo made a couple of saves, so his score can be a bit more. He can have a 6.

Kane did a good header off the line and that overhead effort was good fun. So he can have 4.

Son ran lots and tried. Also 4.

Think those were maybe our best players?

I thought Davies was very good.

We also kept a clean sheet against a team who have been scoring for fun recently so Dier and Romero should also get a mention.

But it was abysmal.

Indeed Davies for me was our best player today. He was trying to make stuff happen at least. I wish some of the other more talented players showed his desire as a minimum.

Davies and Dier were not very good at all. Miracle we kept a clean sheet and they were in behind just through a clearance of the ball.

All over the place, oh well, we got a point and on we go

Therein lies the problem, Davies is about as average as it gets.
