Wolves v Brighton Match Day [LIVE]

Venue: Molineux

On Saturday Wolves will welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to Molineux.

Bruno Lage will no doubt be hoping to have the option of midfielder Ruben Neves and winger Daniel Podence who have both been ruled out of the last couple of games through injury.

Graham Potter has been boosted by the return of Leandro Trossard who missed the game against Man City due to illness. He will also be pleased to have available Steven Alzate who has recovered from a virus and Yves Bissouma who returns from a 2 match suspension.

After a poor run of form where they lost 6 games in a row, Brighton managed 7 points from their next 3 games including a draw against Norwich and wins against Arsenal and Tottenham. Unsurprisingly their next game against Manchester City resulted in a 3-0 defeat.
On Sunday Brighton were at home to Southampton where they drew 2-2.

The two sides have played 7 Premier League games. Those games resulted in 2 wins for Wolves, 1 win for Brighton and 4 draws.
In the reverse fixture this season Wolves ran out 1-0 winners thanks to a single goal from Romain Saiss.

Wolves go into this game on the back of a 1-0 loss to Burnley

I get your point ram to a degree but I see nothing in fabios game that makes me think he'll ever be a regular goalscorer at this level, as I said to DJ earlier I hope to be proven wrong in just over 12 months time

So Fabio is being written off because he's not looking like he's shaping up to be one of the greatest players ever to play the game? That's ridiculous.

If he turns out to be the next Olivier Giroud (for example) is that a disaster? Yes we paid too much for him, yes he wasn't the player we needed to develop the squad in the way we needed and yes none of that is his fault. I think he's got potential to be a very very good player but to compare him to Ronaldo, Haaland, Rooney etc just isn't fair.

Spot on Goldie. Some just don't get it.

If he turns into the next Olivier Giroud and plays for us for a long period then £35 million will be a bargain.

I think that regardless of what Fabio turns into it has already been a disaster.

We were in no position to throw 35 m at a untested kid when we needed to improve the first team and were on the cusp of cracking the top six. The Fabio deal set us back without doubt, some just don't get it.

Why isn't it fair to compare a player labelled a generational talent with others of that labelling

Bare in mind my comparison is based on their teenage years not their top level performances

What other metric can we compare him with goals and assists are zero overall impact on a game also zero

I give in with some of these people who won't admit we blew £36 mill on an untried . untested kid.
That money could have propelled us into Europe, instead of crossing our fingers in the hope that one day he will be half decent.
Not the kid's fault but unfortunately that's the way it is.

Because he clearly isn't a generational talent, decent young player with great potential, yes. He's developing well and if he continues to do so coudl yet turn out to be a decent signing. I've said it before but he's playing in a position where you rarely see 18/19 year olds thrive in the senior game.

I do agree with Cinci's comments to a degree that the deal to bring him in was the wrong one at that time but he's here now and if he develops in to a 10-15 goal a season striker for us in a few years time the investment may have paid off.
