Morning blues,
How do we think we’ll be looking tonight with Cancelo suspended and Walker and Stones injury doubts?
Are we about to see a mental back three or Ake, Dias and Laporte, with Zinchenko and Bernardo deployed as wing backs? Or will we see a more formal back 4 with Ake and Zinchenko played out of position?
Further up, Jesus has a decent record against Real, scoring in both legs last time we played, and with 4 goals over the weekend I reckon he’ll probably get the nod.
Mahrez owes us a big performance, and tends to relish these kind of games. Other than that I think the only real question mark is who plays the false 9 out of Sterling or Foden
Foden
Jesus De Bruyne Mahrez
Rodri
Zinchenko Ake Laporte Dias Bernardo
Ederson
Realistically I think it’s more likely one or both of Stones and Walker are rushed back into the starting line up.
Thought we were comfortable over 2 legs last time, not expecting it to be like that this year, but glad we’re home first! Hope you’re all well blues!
Line up tonight

I think you're more like to play Sterling at wing back than Bernardo surely? Fernandinho could also be an option if you played four at the back.

Wouldn’t be a bad shout. Bernardo’s off the ball work is second to none though really

Yes, however I would expect a wing back to have recovery pace should he be caught up field whilst the opposition counter.
Although I suppose with the way City play he could be a wing back on paper but simply playing in midfield, cutting inside as he normally does whilst offering some sort of protection with his workrate. Personally I wouldn't be trying that out against Real Madrid.

Depends who we have available at the back really, playing Ake and Zinny in both fb roles is risky in itself! Hopefully Walker is fit

For selfish reasons I hope he plays and gets injured. Nothing life threatening or anything of course 😆

Mahrez missed so many chances!

Would have taken a 1 goal lead if offered before the game, but given the nature of the match it’s a bit of a shame to leave with only that. Hopefully Walker is fit for the away leg, and with Cancelo back too we won’t be so all over the place at the back

Mahrez can be unbelievably greedy at times.
He should have realised by now that amongst the City players and fans, as much credit is given to the assist maker as the goal scorer.
