Bolton Wanderers v Fleetwood Town

Last game of the season and it's been a good one for the whites. Promotion at the first attempt last season and stabilised with 70 points and 10th place. On a run now of 3 straight wins, 7 unbeaten are finishing the season strongly. Not a lot at stake apart from position. If Bolton lose and Ipswich win at home to Charlton then Bolton will finish 11th. A Bolton win and Portsmouth lose away to Sheffield Wednesday then Bolton can finish 9th if they can make up a 5 goal difference. Fleetwood are 1 place above Gillingham in the final relegation place and have to match Gillinghams result who are home to Rotherham. After quite a few last day dramas in recent years we can watch on and enjoy the game. Team news. Of our registered players Williams, Santos, Sheehan, Fossey, Tutte, Lee, Isgrove are out injured. One change expected from Cheltenham. Dempsey for Williams. Kick off 12.30 pm.

What I will do towards the start of the season is plug this site on the bwfc Facebook groups. Loads on there but nothing like this with match threads.

That sounds like a good idea I will need to take a look at it when you decide the time is right.

I looked at the retained list. I think it was a decent call from Evatt. We will need to shore up the defence but it will be interesting to see who he brings in and what other positions he might feel need some extra cover.

We need to be able to neutralise the long throws and maybe add a bit more strength to the core of the team.

However, we have strengthened a lot since the January window.

Marlon Fossey has done an Instagram story of him paying various clips for the Wanderers, albeit to a music track I'm not really down with, (as the kids may say). Shameless plugging or a very big hint as to where his future lies? We'll find out soon I suppose.

Hopefully, he will sign for us. However, he could just be putting himself out there as you suggest.

Rico has said talks with Evatt are positive so that may turn out to be a good omen. I suppose it will all revolve around wages and where he wants to be.

Time will tell on the direction both players will take. Fingers crossed.

On Fossey, I have just watched the clips and it says to me, come and get me.

Maybe he wants to explore his options.

Sounds like Santos is sorted and I'm sure Fossey is coming back plus iredale would be a great start to the recruitment.

A week or so after the season ended so will kick start the summer thread over the weekend.

I'm just waiting for our first signing of the season. The last couple of transfer windows signings progressed very quickly. I hope that it will be the same with this window.

It would be good to get all our ducks lined up quickly so that we get the best out of a good pre season.

Iredale sounds like he would be a good signing if he comes. Can play centre back, left back, left wing plus he's physically big enough. Could be in a back 3 with Santos and Jones, Fossey and John as wingbacks.

Transfer window is still closed for now so anything that's said won't go through till it's open. Most, if not all, freebies will be done early with the odd addition with cash for players we either need for the position or who Evatt wants but aren't out of contract done later.

True but it's possible to have talks if both clubs agree and the deal set up to be signed when the window opens.

Evatt has his lists and no doubt he will have already had exploratory talks with clubs who have players of interest.
