There's never a good time to get hammered at home to City, lose another key player, and to see your rivals win. We keep looking for ways we can stay up but has this squad maxxed out on ability and opportunity? We've had a good run of results since Bielsa, but Everton and Burnley are keeping apace and to be fair to both of them, they are taking their chances.
Marsch is pumping fists and slapping backs, but losing Forshaw and Dallas for the rest of the season, on top of everything else, makes this mountain seem even higher. Our injuries have been fu©king unbelievable. Even if we had brought in the right players, we would have struggled to put out a decent team, while letting Alioski go borders on criminal negligence.
Here is where we are:
Burnley P34 34pts
Leeds P34 34 pts
Everton P33 32 pts
Burnley: Villa (h), Spurs (a), Villa (a), Newcastle (h)
Leeds: Arsenal (a), Chelsea (h), Brighton (h), Brentford (a)
Everton: Leicester (a), Watford (a), Brentford (h), Palace (h), Arsenal (a)
Looking at our fixtures, as well as Burnley's and Evertons', would even 40 points be enough to keep us up? Or is time to start planning that trip to Cardiff again?

I can see all 3 clubs finishing on 39 points, leaving us relegated on goal difference. What will the attendances be for home games with Rotherham and Wigan, and those old favourites, Cardiff and Millwall ?

That Chelsea game for you guys is right before the FA cup final - you have to do what Everton did yesterday - make Elland road a cauldron and dig a result out - then follow that up by winning the last 2.

Helps that Everton have 3 away games and are absolutely shocking on the road.
Palace and Brentford could both get a draw there too

Yeah it’s not done, Leeds could definitely pick up 7 points from the remaining 4. That would leave Everton needing 9 and that would be a long shot for them. They are abysmal away and Palace and Brentford won’t play as open as Chelsea and United were, both those sides will be happy to grind out draws and it’s Everton that will have to prise them open.

No big shakes about Jesse Marsch’s exuberant celebrations; he’s American. It’s cultural. It’s normal! Live there and you recognise it. Frank broke his hand the other week celebrating an Everton goal; I would much prefer Jesse just slapping backs and punching the air.
With respect to Bielsa, he admitted that culturally, spying on your opponents is culturally normal in Latin America. It is….believe me.
As far as I’m concerned, I don’t care if Everton lose their last game if the season and we get a 94th minute winner to move us out of the relegation spot.
Can you imagine……?
“Bamfoooooorddddddd!!!!!!”
In the studio Jeff Stelling frowns and starts growling into his microphone that Leeds have stayed up…..before he finally rises out of his Soccer Saturday chair one last time.
The games are fairly evenly matched. I think the issue is that we have the pressure by having our less challenging games last.
