What a terrible decision.
All you Doughty lovers can go shove it.
Hes done nothing for the club but put us further in debt.
Now hes sacked the best manager weve had in 20 years.

Doughty is more important to the club than any manager. Billy has achieved a lot but in the time he's been here he has not tried to make the club seem united. He has always blamed Doughty when there have not been signings but other managers have managed to make them.
I'm sorry about this but I stand by Doughty.

I agree and take that kn+b martha with him.
We're being turned into a laughing stock.
Poor Billy, as for Maclaren this pr+t will demonstrate just what a difficult job Forest is.

This bit about players being allowed to go. Who is in charge of that, manager or chairman?
Exactly.
Place the blame for this at the right door and ask yourself if we wanted to keep all the players anyway.

BTW, Frank Clark was the best manager since Clough. Billy might have achieved this status but he did not.

Despite what your views may be on Doughty his decision to sack him has been in the making for nearly 12 months now. As a owner despite what the manager has achieved for your club there is only so much public criticism you will be willing to take before you loose your patience. I for one will thank Billy for all that he has done for the team over the last 2 years but am willing to see what the next man can do with the team and resources he has available to him. Only time will tell if this decision is best for the Club.

I think that people really need to evaluate the last few years before they start to come up with statements about "sack the board" or "Doughty out."
Put yourself in the shoes of the board...you appoint a manager, who would've been fully aware of the transfer policy at the club before he signed on the dotted line, insisting on moaning about it week in week out whenever things aren't going right on the pitch....slating the policy which in turn undermines the whole policy you've put in place.
Pair this with the fact the guy you've employed to get your club to the Premier League has failed in the two seasons he's been employed, whilst actually having a poorer second season than the first.
So do you draw the line and cut your loses, or do you carry on with him despite his public disrespecting of your policies as well as the glaring fact his second season was a decline on his first. You decide?
I'm also not sure the lack of ambition people are pointing out can really be justified. Yes, the club haven't spent lots of money, instead choosing to operate within budgets that they know will ensure stability. The alternative...the Cardiff approach, who are having to sell the likes of Chopra because they are unable to afford to keep their top players financially.
I wonder, in hindsight, whether clubs such as Leeds and Gretna would take ambition over stabilty again.
In summary, I neither loved nor loathed BD but I'm a true believer that if someone isn't delivering results, you search for someone that is.

I'm shocked, but not exactly surprised...
With BD's constant railings against the Board, the lack of signings etc etc it was only ever going to end one way...
Just a bit shocked they've done this now. Makes me think Steve McClaren must be a pretty much done deal.
Sad to see him go though - even though he was contentious he did turn an appauling season round and get us to the playoffs the very next season.
I think the lack of progress this season was the real nail in the coffin.
