Real not the best team in the final, hugely outplayed by City for most of the semi and outplayed by Chelsea for much of their game. Hard to beat them but I would prefer to watch City any week.
Still they best the 3rd best team in England, the best team in England and then the second best team in England in that order so they certainly have something about them
That's why a cup is a bit of a lottery.

Real Madrid actually could have won 3-0. Benzema bottled it before offside goal and then casemiro had a simple task to slide it across or shoot and bottled it.

That Real Madrid win must be most insane win of all time though. They just kept finding a way. You sort of actually expected it no matter how the game was going or what the score was.

Has any team lost as many games in the cl as Real have and still won it?

No idea. All I know is the 4 CL finals we reached under SAF we were unbeaten to those finals.

Real are not a balanced team, but they are not a poor team. While they are often too open in midfield and defence, they are very quick and fluid in attack. Our problem was we were playing with an unsettled half fit defence. Liverpool for all the hype didn’t have the attacking flair to break them down. But give Real credit, they are not a pushover.

Liverpool hadn't really been tested in the QF and SF they had probably the easiest draws they could have had so Real were a massive step up in quality. Real just don't give up and as Liverpool's frustration when the didn't score grew it was always likely that Vinicius would easily evade TAA and that proved the difference. Liverpool may well try to buy a RB in the summer as they need a significant improvement there. If they lose Mane they will need a replacement there too.

We would have beaten Real Madrid if we had a fully fit defence at our disposal.
Vinicus was a bystander until Walker got injured.

Agree Boris, but seeing TAA on the teamsheet he must have thought it was his birthday.

City had half their defence missing and two in-game injuries
They were ahead for all of the tie bar last five mins
Chelsea had ridiculous VAR decision would have put them 3-0 up and probably through
Liverpool had byes to the final, a full squad and were disappointing in the final
