Wont make a huge difference though.

According to Merson, we should apparently be "just aiming" for third in our group, as we have no chance of winning the CL.
Does not mention his team was not good enough to get into it in the first place, or that perhaps the other 25 odd clubs who are in it are wasting their time too.
Oh and he seems to have no idea about the value cash wise of being in it, or the possibility of attracting better players if in it.
