The criticism of Kane is big games in general, not just finals.

I would wager Kane has scored more goals against Man City, Man United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal than Salah has (substitute Spurs for Liverpool in his case). All of those matches involving those clubs are considered the biggest in the Prem.

So completely untrue to say Kane does not turn up in big games in general.

Courtois certainly turned up for the final. He's the main reason Real won.

You hear a lot, even from Spurs fans, how Kane is part of why Spurs don't win trophies, because he doesn't turn up in these games, yet Salah is just as bad for it, but because Liverpool still win stuff this criticism is not put to him as much.

It really shows you the difference being in a good team and being around better players makes, which in a way makes it look worse for Salah because he is surrounded by better quality.

It's because in finals the opponent wants to win a trophy too! Although most top teams don't change to account for opponents, Salah and Kane are definitely two players a team will make an effort to neutralise, as they are both so prolific and key to their teams performances.

I'm not even surprised they don't score much in finals as giving them time and space on the ball is a sure way to lose a final.

I get that many players struggle in finals but when you've had 8 big ones and not even scored a goal from open play in any, and you're supposed to be one of the best players/goal scorers around then it's not great is it?

For Liverpool it's only 5 finals to be fair and 1 of those he was injured after 20 minutes.
