Week 20

Brentford 1 - 2 Leicester
Broja(Livramento), 19
Benzema x 2 (KB, James)
MOTM - Livramento

Brentford improving have been unlucky recently and set out determined to take something from this game
Livramento started like a man on a mission and was tearing it up down the right hand side and it was him that created the opener, taking out Neymar who looked for a foul, ref having none of it, Livramento played a neat one two with Odegaard, then a nice cross in for Broja to nod home, Brentford surprisingly were on top for a good part of the first half as a lack lustre Leicester just didn't get going, a bullet up their ass at HT seemed to work as Leicester came out a different team and really put Brentford under a lot of pressure, it counted with two quick fire goals from Benzema, the worlds best players apparently showing his class after good work behind him, Leicester were in control and didn't take the foot off, but Brentford were determined and the defense was solid they just couldn't muster up a decent chance and the game was won much to the relief of Rof

Wolves 2 - 2 Man City
Vlahovic(Pulisic), 9, Jorginho (Pen), 66)
Schick(Diaby)20), Nkunku(Terrier), 88
Nkunku 89
MOTM - Diaby

A highly entertaining game from two well matched sides, full of wonderful play from both sides, yet riddled with many mistakes, Vlahovic scored early doors whn he was played in by Pulisic, it was easier to miss than score tbf, lead didnt last long new boy Diaby getting some room down the left to play it low into the feet of Schick who doesnt miss many easy chances these days, Second half much alike, two teams going for it, a daft challenge for Bastoni which only saw yellow, gave Jorginho a chance to score from the spot which he duly obliged. This truly was end to end stuff, Nkunku next on the score sheet after some lovely work down the right and Terrier assisting, this was late on and Nkunku ran away celebrating, earning him a yellow, with emotions running high and desperate for a winner, straight from Wolves kick off, Nkunku went in on Vlahovic rashly which earned him another quickfire yellow then a red, game was done and dusted and both teams go home with a point each

Watford 1 - 0 Liverpool

Getting Palhinha for as cheap as he did imo will provide a good base at the heart of LC side, he was man of the match on his debut as he helped the home side keep a clean sheet and walk away with all 3 much needed points, he was at the heart of everything Watford did, nulifying Liverpools attacks and starting his very own for Watford, Liverpool tried and tried to break them down but he marshalled them well along with Nunes, especially the 2 CBs and that kept Raspadori and Scamacca quiet and away from becoming any threat, Liverpool have a fine young team, just today they were kept at bay by a very well organised unit

Nunez(Nunes) 37
MOTM - Palhinha

Arsenal vs United

Arsenal started with a strong advantage, at home with form and quality of team in their favour.

Though Dybala was excellent at times, Arsenal lacked a number 9, or could’ve used greater numbers in attack against a deep defence. Against a 5 at the back and a deep line Jota, would have really benefited from an overlapping Tierney to give him more freedom, as cutting inside against a deep defence made it easier for the Utd defence to deal with him. The away side setup with a strong defence and great energy and quality in front in their all action cms, with the pace in attack to relieve pressure and counter Arsenal.
As Arsenal chased the game the subs lacked the change they required to make the difference against a stern defence. Nadz subs were thought out and helped us gameplan further. Some added quality at wing back would make a big difference to the away team.
So although Arsenal tactics may have worked well in another game, they were not right for the day. Tactically the away team were the winners, which evened the slots, and the home team were very lucky in the end.

Arsenal 2-1 Manchester United
Milinkovic-Savic (Hakimi), Mahrez (Dybala)
Adeyemi (Valverde)

Spurs vs Newcastle

Two of my favourite sides going head to head today. Newcastle lower in the league than they deserve to be and Spurs going toe to toe with Lesta for the league title.

both sides line up in very similar fashion so it becomes a series of mini battles all over the pitch, I like Newcastles FB's but I think their defensive capabilities will be tested to the extreme today.

But Dias/VVD is just a peak CB pairing and Havertz is in for a tough task getting through them even with the best midfielder in the prem and KDB threading balls through.

Spurs I think edge the midfield in a tight battle and Newcastles attack have the same issue as Spurs'

Tactically Tab cashes in as I just felt Ludy's were a little rushed (understandable) where as Tab's were more detailed and in fine margins these can make a difference with the slots.

great game I couldn't pick a winner... the fruity well she's a b!tch most of the time

Spurs 1-0 Newcastle
Lukaku (Havertz)

MOTM - Lukaku, a 25 minute cameo became a match winner

Leeds vs Chelsea

Leeds starting with a huge boost with fans and a new manager freshening things up, the back line in particular, has improved massively in a short period. Team quality has closed a lot in the past week, but Chelsea still have the upper hand here and have form on side. The home team tactics were strong and well setup, though I thought they would lose the midfield battle and lacked control/creativity from deep as think Hazard plays that role as a second striker closer to attack than midfield. Think he would also leave more space defensively against one of best teams in league. However with the front four Leeds have and in particular Kane and Mane, when they get the ball they have ability to cause damage against any defence.

Chelsea solid as always, and well balanced gameplan for this game. Tactics are strong but still think could be clearer by stating the obvious less and making clearer/focusing on tactical parts. Think Chelsea would control the midfield and with two attacking teams think they would have more chances as a result, no real weakness in either defence and two top class attacks.
Both teams have good subs so nothing there. Chelsea advantage for spinner.

Leeds 1-2 Chelsea
Mane (Kane)
Haaland (De Jong), Mbappe (Robertson)
