Once Italy recover from shock of early gol we gradually got our sheet together n dominate midfield. Which is normal as Italy midfield players are/where vastly superior too England

People are so weird about Southgate man

Italy dominated that match, England first half edged it, then Italy woke up and took over. We did well to get to pens in the end. Best team won, no dispute there

Coaches that preceded Southgate, Allardyce, Hodgson, Capello and McLaren. Southgate has least been reasonably successful.

All were totally inept yet he we are thinking Graham Potter or a.nother will come in and win the world cup!

I think as far as it goes, Southgate is one of the best managers around for understanding what the international camp is like and fostering a good environment.

He just can't seem to take that handbrake off. When he's talking about in game tactics he sounds smart, but I do think he's hindering our players.
