With the €100m being banded about by so many rivals I assume they believe we’ll be winning the trophies needed for that figure to be reached

People pick and choose what the reported fee is. The media do this also.

Only today, Sky reported Nunez as an £85m deal, and that is based on the transfer fee and potential add ons based on competitions won.

No mention of agents fees for example.

The same company (Sky), reported Haalands fee as being £85.5m, including agents fees.

The agenda of Sky is clear here. To use different parameters in order to reach a similar figure for both transfers, so that they could then run a poll that is based on comparing the two where it actually matters. That poll being based on -

Both players cost a similar amount, so who do our readers/subscribers think will be the better deal.

And fans (including posters on this board) fall for it every time.

And fans also use every mental gymnastic they can in order to downplay the cost of a transfer to their own team, while up playing the cost of a transfer to a rival.

It’s so transparent, yet people fall for it every time.

Shouldn't you headline be "we have been done" ??

And perrrrlease don't tell everyone "he is world class" and "looks like he's been a Liverpool player all his life" before he has even played half a dozen games, like you usually do.

Do you need to have seen him play to make a judgement?

I think reading analysis of people better qualified than some people on a football forum is a better place to start anyway....

Yes, but that’s not an opinion on whether you think he’s any good. I wasn’t actually referring to anything you’ve said, more those that are insisting we’ve overpaid and he isn’t all that.
