England's Best Middle Order

After the recent test, well 18 months, there has been lots of talk of where Root stands in all time best players for England.

It's a little early to state where he is but of course a top 10 middle order player, probably top 5.

Anyway here is my top 10, in no particular order.

If I did a top 7 or 8 since I started watching us in 1990 it would be

Gooch Cook Trott KP Root Stokes Prior Flintoff

Not necessarily your question but I'm not sure I can judge those I've never seen

For me he is the best batsman I have seen from an English perspective

Best Test batsmen I've seen for us...

Root, KP & Cook. In that order.

Then a drop off to Thorpe, Vaughan, Strauss, Tres, Atherton & Nas. Also in order.
