Welcome to LUFC Marc Roca.

I worry about Orta too and it's very true that he's signed a fair number of extremely expensive Spanish duds - Casilla, Rodrigo, Firpo are good examples.

BUT

I am quietly encouraged by the three new signings. All three are young, seem like good prospects, and will be hungry to do well in the PL. Perhaps Marsch's influence is showing?

We need a number of other signings too this summer - a defensive midfielder and a proper striker at least.

£50m give or take spent already, and I’m feeling very underwhelmed. Even if we manage to keep Raph and Kalvin I think we struggle. Wish we could get Pablo at 25 years old!

You like a good add in bonus, ay Germany? 🤣

Jokes aside, I think if we start analyzing Orta’s performance with Spaniards these past 24 months, it’s horrendous on balance.

Over £60 million spent on Rodrigo, Llorente and Firpo…(even another £1 million for Matteo Joseph). None of those will likely make the Spain World Cup squad and the half decent player Hernandez, he offloaded for free.

Think Orta’s clearly too obsessed with Spanish speaking players as certainly they are the ones who have most underperformed and provided the least value for money. We could mention Daniel James, but most of agree that was a £25+ million Bielsa signing. One shudders when you think how Man City signed Agüero for just £38 million 🙄
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Llorente seemed to do relatively well in the recent set of internationals, Enrique loves him, and he gets called up pretty regularly. He has a good chance of going to the world cup. Firpo is behind Jordi Alba and Jose Gaya at LB, and there's no shame in that. Why are you already critcising the signing of Joseph?

The fanbase has become so overly privileged that a player has to be a guaranteed starter for Spain to be a good signing? Please.

Lubo, I know you’re still upset with me, but at least if you’re going to disagree, try to be more rational in your argument. Thank you.

Looking forward to seeing the new players on pre season. We were awful in pre season last season an it seemed to set the scene for the season. Hoping for a good preseason this time.

Well, given your question, clearly you haven’t been posting on the 606 since it’s BBC days since as with the likes of Jonty, I’ve not changed my username. I’ve been a Leeds fan well over 40 years now, thanks to my father who was born and raised up in Pudsey. There’s the nature answer.

You Lubo?

My question was more in relation to why it is you think that I'm upset with you. I don't remember names, and if I held grudges against every person on here who I'd disagreed with then it would be all the information my head could hold. You're the one who seems to have taken something personally.

I don’t have time to take things personally. However, it’s obvious to even the casual observer, that to start ranting that someone needs “mentally checking” is considerably worse than being just rude, and is not something which should be ilengaged in on a football forum. Since then, you have proceeded to continue with your mini crusade against every post I made, so it was natural to draw the conclusion that you had an personal issue. Just tone down the insults and disagree a little more politely. That’s all 👍🏼

Oh, you're the gun nut.

You seem to have found the time to take things pretty personally.
