Arsenals support Around the world

Following on from a previous article I wrote a couple of weeks back, I'm now fully in to my travels, currently in new Zealand, so I thought I would stop and tell of how our beloved arsenal are getting on around the world.

Well.... In Taiwan, not really arsenal mad but then they are not really fussed about any foreign football teams and the only merchandise I saw a united top - and English is not exactly a second language to most of them so not a massive blow for us, but it goes to show there is a lot of growing as a brand to be done in this part of the world ... Although I half expect we are more popular on the mainland, especially Japan - but that's in comparison to taiwan, I do not thing our fan base is massive over here really.

Have not been in new Zealand long, and I'm in Christchurch at the moment so if there was an arsenal shop it may well be several meters under rubble!
At any rate, big on the rugby and they like there football but I doubt we will be going out of our way to win the new zealanders over.

Overall, lots of work to be done if we want to catch united (commercially) so gazadis and co need to get working.

Finally ... What on earth is going on back there? Are we seriously 15th and just lost to the spurs? I'm glad I'm half way around the world but at the same time I can't help but feel that if only I was back in London this probably would never have happened
As I'm more caught up in the rugby right now, all I cam say is it's not about staying positive but staying united, so try not to get at wenger to much and remember if you need a scape goat denilson is technically still an arsenal player

Interesting and thank you for your article. Of course in comparison to United we are far behind regarding the commercial items.

AFC vs MUFC comparisons for 2010/11. Wage bill £153 to approx £120m. Commercial income £103m to approx. £50m.

That is were we have to generate money to secure our future.

I'm a New Zealander and I'm glad to say Arsenal have certainly won me over
Yes Rugby is massive over here but we do get alot of premier league coverage. Nearly all the Arsenal matches are live, as well as the other big premier league clubs. And we get extended highlights of games as well as the review show..

I'd love it if NZ had a dedicated Arsenal shop
