Anyone else notice this with transfer values?
"United Agree £57m fee for Martinez" (when it's £49m rising to £57m)
https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/62170735
And yet for Liverpool: "Liverpool sign Nunez for £64m" (when it's £64m rising to £85m)
https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/61742358
It was the exact same for Diaz with them too: £37.5m quoted instead of £50m (if written like United)
https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/60180371
Why for United is the signing made to look more expensive, and Liverpool cheaper?

Very spurs fan this article,😂😂😂 as fans who cares it’s not our money

Not quite, for a start we don’t have SteveF claiming the French media have a vendetta against us, or billy (who’s now filtered me for calling his team Tottenham divespurs) bitterness all over it.

Maybe he didn't think your wordplay was up to standard

as for the OP unless theres other examples its probably just how the author wanted to word it on any given day. If you read they both states the initial price and potential.

Richarlison widely reported as 50 +10 add ons...except on bbc
but in the interest of fairness, they reported Bussouma correctly as 25m + add ons

Yeh, when they are selling it is the whole fee including add ons, (Coutinho for eg) but when they are buying its just the guaranteed fee.
Varpool are a media darling, hence why there is a massive thirst for a positive spin to be put around them at all times. Disgusting really, but nothing new.

This is just a case of different journalists reporting a transfer in a different way.
All figures reported can be explained and validated. It isn’t to do with bias so much. Maybe more to do with agenda. And that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Want to report on a club’s signing that is made by a club that is known for spending money, then report the transfer fee and the add ons as one figure.
There is no consistency at all when it comes to reporting transfer fees. And it doesn’t really matter if there isn’t.
Fans are no better truth be told. It has now become the norm to downplay a transfer cost amongst fans - in an attempt to claim their club has got a better deal. This only happens at the elite clubs though - clubs further down the line are seemingly happy that their club spends x amount on a player, almost as a badge of honour in an attempt to compete.
It’s all balls anyway, as the amounts reported in the media ignore one relevant fact - amortisation. The fees reported for pretty every transfer relate to the duration of the contract. It’s never reported what the club actually paid the moment the transfer occurs.
That’s because no one really knows. And more to the point, no one seems to care.
