Saturday 6th August
Fulham v Liverpool 12-30
Bournemouth v Aston Villa 3
Leeds v Wolverhampton 3
Newcastle v Nottingham Forest 3
Tottenham v Southampton 3
Everton v Chelsea 5-30

Sunday 7th August
Leicester v Brentford 2
Manchester Utd v Brighton 2
West Ham v Manchester City 4-30

Good luck everybody!

The season gets disrupted on 12th November for the World Cup (in respect of which there will be a separate competition run on identical lines to last year’s Euros tournament.

The rules for the season are the same as last year.

They sound complicated but they’re not really.

Correct result - 3 points
Number of goals scored by each team - 3 apiece.
If you get a perfect score - 9 points.

When you don’t get the score exactly right, you will get credit for predicting the correct margin of victory - 2 additional points. For example, you predict 3-1 but it finishes 2-0 or 4-2 etc, you’ll get the 3 points for the correct result and an extra 2 for correct margin. Additionally, where a draw has been predicted but the score is wrong, 2 extra points for predicting a margin of zero. With draws, if you've gone for 2-2 and it finishes 1-1 or 3-3 etc, you get 3 for the correct result plus two for predicting a zero margin.

Double points - as last season, you pick which match you'd like for the chance of double points. It's entirely up to you. For those of you old enough to remember, it's the same as BBC TVs "It's A Knockout" where you got to play your joker to double up your points. All you'll need to do is to indicate on your prediction submissions which match you are going for. Just add "Double" or "X 2".

If a player fails to nominate their choice of match for double points, the last game in the set will be the default position in the event that no response is received from the notification of the failure, as posted on ja606.

For all cup ties where extra time and penalties feature, score at 90 minutes counts.

BONUSES:

The Top 5 for the week receive the following

1st - 25 points

2nd - 15 points

3rd - 10 points

4th - 6 points

5th - 3 points

Very occasionally, only one player will score points on a particular match. Where that happens, the lucky one will get an extra 5 bonus points. It only happened 3 times last season but each time it would have boosted the player into the top five.

Season long bonuses for other correct predictions are also available:

100 points – Number LCFC goals* (Premier League only) (reduced by 10 for every goal your prediction differs). See note *

100 points - LCFC* Premier League goal difference - reduced by 10 for every goal your prediction differs. See note *

50 points – LCFC* League position (reduced by 10 for every position your prediction differs from the final table). See note *

25 points – LCFC* League position immediately prior to the commencement of the FA Cup Third Round weekend.See note *

Note *

I am fairly certain that we will have a number of guests who support clubs other than LCFC this season. That being the case, predictions for number of goals scored, goal difference, final position and position prior to the 3rd round FA Cup weekend can relate to their club of choice. However, all four bonuses must relate to the same club. It is not permitted, for example, to provide predictions in respect of, say Liverpool or Aston Villa, but predict the Forest to be bottom on the first weekend in January. Heaven forfend!

X points - Top Premier League scorer (number of points = number of goals scored).

Name the three teams to be relegated - final position not relevant - just name the teams to go down - 25 points per correct prediction.

Name the two teams to finish first and second in the Championship. 25 points for each correct prediction. Again, final position not relevant.

YOUR SEASON LONG BONUS CHOICES MUST BE SUBMITTED BY 5TH AUGUST, I.E. BEFORE THE PREMIER LEAGUE KICKS OFF.

Where the are no Premier League fixtures (international breaks, FA Cup weekends, etc) then fixtures from League 1 or League 2 will feature.

It is likely that we will also include League Cup games from Round 2 as well as the FA Cup from Round 3.

I hope all who participated last year come back to play and a few more come on board. It need only take you 5 minutes per round.

Defending champion is Nuneaton Fox.

ANY ISSUES, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!
