Got to play them sometime

but still, Spurs have a very tricky run over the next few weeks, playing all 6 of the other teams from last season's top 7 in the first 14 games.

If we're there or there abouts come bonfire night, then teams are going to have to realise we're the real deal.

The fun doesn't stop there by the way. After 24 games we'll have played 10 of the 12 league games this season against last season's top 7 (and indeed 12 of the 14 against the top 8).

If we win the next 37 then we win the league, although I reckon 36 will be enough as we have a better goal difference than everybody at the moment.

After 24 games of a 38 game season, I imagine you would have done.

And playing all the other 6 teams from last seasons top 7 after 14 games (5 games shy of the half way point), is that somehow an astonishing stat?

Have you worked out the the same for the other teams?

These fixtures show us getting most of the big games done at quite an early stage. If we have to play only 2 of the top 6 teams in our last 14 games then that's a pretty strong matter in our favour, at the sharp end of the season. Cannot be dismissed really, especially if we remain in contention in cups / league etc

Chelsea away will tell us how much influence Conte has really had at the club.

I would expect us to probably play well but lose. We don’t usually even turn up. Proper bottle jobs against Chelsea.

If we go there and get a good result, I might start believing things have changed.

I think we'll win. .......

A draw at the bridge will be a good result.
Lets face it we we struggle there no matter what form Chelsea are going through.

We've not scored in our last six games against Chelsea. Absolutely pathetic record.

Our fixtures are very similar to last season, in so much as we play most of the 'big 6' away in the first half, and had the easiest run in towards the end.
Personally, I would prefer to get the hard games out of the way early. As we saw last year, teams ( eg Arsenal ) looked a lot better than they were, due to a nice set of fixture though the middle of the season, then with our easier run in, we went past them.

We have the first of these "will tell us where we are" games next week, and I for one would much prefer playing Chelsea this early, before they get into a routine. W e all know they have quality players ( this oh the are in such a mess ) talk is rubbish, but it may take them 4/5 weeks to sort themselves out.

If we go there and bend over like we always do, I would be shocked ( with this squad ) and disappointing that nothing has changed. But, I am not so sure and we will see.
Nobody's season is defined after two games, but Chelsea are our biggest "bogey" fixture, and Conte will know that needs to be broken to maintain the "no more Spursy" mentality.

For once, I am looking forward to the game.

I fully expect Spurs to win at Stamford Bridge next weekend. Completely different squad to the usual one that turns up there, mostly injury ravaged.

Yes they are Spurs bogey team, but there is absolutely nothing to say that Spurs should not be beating them if they can beat Man City home and away, and draw twice with Liverpool.

I hate all this nonsense about who we fear or don’t play well against. Chelsea are there for the taking and they have more to fear rom us than we from them. Grow a pair and believe! COYS
