A thought on Rabiot

The ball will barely make it to our new striker if we don’t sort the middle of the pitch out once and for all. Whoever we play up front, and our wingers, be it Ronaldo, Martial, Bruno or even a youth player, they would function better and have more chance of succeeding if we had regular control of games by bossing then midfield.

Sign fckin Lewandowski or Benzema but if we stick with McFred or some cheapo bargain basement job in CM they’re destined to be isolated and limited to the odd chance here and there, which ramps up the pressure to score every time.

I'd have wanted LFC to move onto other targets long ago...

Even with our incompetent negotiators, I can’t for the life of me think of any other reason that we have continued to peruse this other than we’ve had private reassurances that he will come once paid.

I may be wrong but that’s my thinking. If he really doesn’t want to come then he can stay where he is though and Barça will crumble.

I mean Barca are totally facked either way, the fact they are currently dealing with illegalities in their contracts whilst merrily wrapping up a £50m for Bernardo Silva just beggars belief. Can't wait for them to go bust.

If FDJ stands his ground it will be absolutely hilarious. Maybe we could get Lewa on loan as they won't be able to play him?

I’m not remotely convinced that he’s desperate to stay. He’s probably been advised by his lawyers not to give any hint whatsoever that he wants to leave.

Barça have been talking absolute bollox about his situation all summer, desperately trying to offload him to the point of threatening legal action, whilst simultaneously talking about how much they value and want to keep him at the club.

I wouldn’t be remotely surprised if FDJ is playing the same kind of game.
