Romero apparently injured and likely

to be missing for a few weeks. Step forward Davidson. You did Spurs proud at the end of last season, so not overly worried about the Romero injury.

Spurs certainly do have their far share of sicknotes. Romero looks like joining Skipp as the latest two members.

It was the stamp on the groin from Cucurella that all the media didn’t even give a mention to, as to why he is injured I’d imagine. As Romero himself liked a SM post regarding it.

Just shows how steely he is, that he completed the fixture. Cucurella has kicked out at Kulu a few times also, even last season at Brighton. Wee side show Bob wannabe.

We do seem to lose the plot on here when a key player is out injured, don’t we?🤔

Romero was out for 3 months with injury last year, his return coincided with the signing of Bentancur and our run in resulted in getting 4th spot.
I think Romero for his age has the potential to be a World class player, just needs to learn a little restraint especially with long hair. We could easily have lost him on Sunday to acard if the referee had spotted it😵‍💫
Look at Liverpool, VVD is undoubtedly the best central defender in Europe, if not the World, but who else do they have really that are miles better than Dier or Sanchez? Man City are the same, they rely on possession to protect their defence which with Stones etc have a leaky back line.

My biggest problem with Sanchez is his reluctance to go forward with the ball, 90% of the time you know he is going to pass sideways or backwards, which makes him too predictable. However he has started to show some good abilities and uses his pace well. Made some great interceptions back in April and May.

I don’t get this dislike for Dier, over the past year I would say overall that he has been one of our most consistent players in the team. There is genuine talk of him going to Qatar with England, he used to be one of the first names on the England team sheet but lost his way a bit under Mourhino, he now seems to have found his Mojo again.👍

An excellent post Genius. Far to many of our supporters get on Sanchez`s back for no reason other than they don`t like him for some reason. Even have one supporter that says he is always getting sent of and giving away OGs, without a shred of evidence. I am not a great fan of either Dier or Davies, but they do a job, and I don`t hate them like some hate Sanchez. Both make mistakes, but then name me a defender that doesn`t. I would prefer both to be upgraded, but at the moment they are both doing a job for the team, so am fine with them.

Dier for all his good points(I have spoken highly of him in the past - even whilst others didn’t rate him), you can almost always be guaranteed every single match he has that one lapse in concentration that has sometimes led to a goal against.

Lapses in focus and concentration happen in most games, not always leading to a goal.

I remember playing against Parsons Drove(a very good pyramid team) way back in 1971 and I scored a hat trick before half time, unfortunately they were all oggers. We had turned up with only 7 players initially, which is the minimum you could play with.
I was usually in midfield or on either wing, but with only 7 players I was put in as a centre half against the best team in the league.
At half time we were 5-0 and we had the opposition worried🤔🤣
The rest of the players turned up just as we were going out for second half, so the referee delayed things until they were ready to play. We lost the match but the second half was a 3-3 all draw and I bagged two goals at the correct end, should have had a third but ball hit post and rebounded into keepers hands.

Now that would have been something if I had got two hat tricks in the same game for both sides🤣

By the way, none of the oggers were avoidable, two ricochets and the third was a blinding header that few goalkeeper’s would have saved.
Wished I had kept the Peterborough Telegraph and Chatteris Citizen newspapers, they had the headline “scored five goals and still on losing team”🥴🤔
Could have been my “Spursy moments”🤣

The scary thing Sandy is that I was only 21 then where did those years go.

Unfortunately I have given up my season ticket this year due to problems with my knees and having one replaced in February, meant I missed most of the games from January onwards. Most likely have the other one done in the winter, so it wasn’t really economically viable to carry on paying if I couldn’t travel.
Not so bad going into WHL station, but it was quite often closed on match days and that meant walking from Seven Sisters to the stadium, which was quite a trek when you have dodgy knees.
How are you managing now you are in Warwickshire?

Sorry to hear that GG, hope the knee isn’t causing you as much bother, now you have reduced the long danders.

Hi Genius, not to bad, and I have been down for a few matches. Not going tomorrow because of the rail strike, but will be down for the Fulham match. Wife has not really settled, so we could be back down South again soon. LOL.

Trust your knees make a full recovery, and you get yourself mobile sooner rather than later. I am fortunate that I am still in good health, and still able to get out and about with my other hubby, hillwalking. When I cannot do that I know my days are numbered.

Keep the spirits up, and you will soon be back on the golf course.
