Harry Kane has a few records to his name, the newest one being most goals for one club in PL history. 185 goals is a lot, and there’s little doubt he’ll be PL top scorer of all time if he stays in England (probably why he didn’t bother with the move to Bayern this summer).
But does all this actually mean anything if he hasn’t even got one trophy to his name? It’s quite embarrassing at this stage.
Other than Spurs, will anyone actually care of his career once he retires trophyless?
You see some careers get wasted due to injuries, some due to players who just don’t have mental strength to pursue the perfection of the craft. Harry Kane has created a new category where he wants to stay as a big fish in small pond. There is no reward worthy in being loyal to one team if that supposed team just aren’t good enough imo. But if a statue is what he’s after, you can’t blame him. After all which other club will think he’s good enough for one?
A good example is Alan Shearer. He was a great striker, but had he gone to Man Utd there’s a big probability he’d be a lot higher rated than he is remembered for. But at least Shearer had a PL medal.
