For Anthony Gordon from Everton.

I don’t understand this at all. Are Boehly and Tuchel insane? He looks like an ok player who might be worth 15-20m. But 60m is actually completely insane and I can’t understand the thought process behind this at all.
What are we thinking here?
Apparently Chelsea are going to bid £60m

Can I ask those who say Gordon is not worth 60 mil, how they know that?
Are you football experts, do you know better than transfer people and managers who have been in the game for years what price he should be.
Have any of you held positions in an professional prem club.
Or is it just an opinion on your part. because all I can see is he's not worth it, who says he's not?
If I buy something a car for £1000 but everyone else wants it for £500, it does not matter. The car is worth what someone is willing to pay for it and in this case the car was worth £1,000.
Wahl Iccht all I see from you is negativity, lets be honest you are no fan at all, I really dont know why after all this time you still pretend to be a CFC fan, your just trying to wind up.
Others on this thread are from other prem sides and who no doubt would say any player we sign would not be worth it or he's crap.
I myself prefer to leave it to the people who know more about football than the so called experts on these boards.

But your not experts, yes just opinions.
However and as a fan I would not make a statement on a players worth because all the club are doing is trying to back the manager in he's choices and doing a great job in my opinion.
Tuchel has asked and they are complying, if Tuchel asked for a player and board did not back him you would all moan about it.
This time if it goes wrong Tuchel will be sacked but at least he will be sacked because he chose the players not like a lot of our poor managers sacked because players they did not choose , were not up to scratch.
Yes we may pay a lot of money but give the club owners credit for being good to their word ,. They said they would do all they can to improve the squad , back the manger , and it would be him who chooses the players .
They have been true to everything and ground to be improved very soon, again keeping their word

You’re saying a lot of words without saying anything. No one one this thread proclaimed to be an expert, or implied anything other than giving their opinion. I’ll ask again, do you yourself ever have an opinion on anything in football that differs from what the manager or board are doing?

Vorsprung yes I have opinions on certain things but when it comes to player transfers I leave those decisions to people who know better than me.
Let me say this straight I do not give 2 monkeys how much a player costs, if our board and manager think hes right for us and he's worth x amount, that is fine by me.
I do not understand our own fans questioning things.
If we dont invest they question it, if we do they question it.
The money does not matter, its who the manager wants and the board is backing him as they promised.
So why are the CFC fans on tis thread worried what they cost. Just be thankful we can do it.
Is that plain enough

Because your club have a history of making awful signings.
You spend £100m on Lukaku. Everyone knew that was a facking stupid deal apart from your own club. Being an ‘expert’ didn’t work out well for them then did it?

darren every club make dud signings, shall we go through Man Utd last few years.
But thats not my point regardless if they get it wrong they are still way more experienced than people on this site.
And again what a player costs, why is that a concern .
If your club believes player is worth 100 mil and pay then he's worth 100 mil.
Its all well after the event saying everyone knew Lukaku would flop, nobofy was saying that in firt 9 games when he was banging them in, it was very quiet. Then what happened after that our could anyone call what was to happen after such a short time.
My point is again its all well and good having opinions but people on here seem to believe they know better than people who have been in the game years upon years.
Off course the other boards will be on here telling us Gordon is crap and not worth the money, its tribal, they would say that.
But I just dont get CFC fans moaning about Chelsea buying a player because its a lot of money, Christ they would moan like hell if we could not sign anybody, like a lot of clubs.
Cost of players is nothing we can do anything about or really should care about, Thank God for our owners being able to do it

You can if you like. I knew full well spending £130m on Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan Bissaka was facking stupid. The fact the people at the club couldn’t says more about them than the perceived arrogance of fans thinking they know better. Same with Lukaku, and loads of people were saying he would flop before, during and after.
People aren’t being tribal either. Some just have an opinion on football clubs making mental decisions. Your fans should be allowed that more than anyone - they want you to make good signings and use the money well to strengthen the team appropriately. We like having a laugh at all the shiiiiiit signings you make. Same thing happens to us. Difference is most people acknowledge our poor recruitment, Chelsea seem to get away with it, despite making just as many awful signings.

Tbh it just sounds like you don’t know much about football so are unwilling to be critical, because you are talking from a position of ignorance. That’s fine, but it’s not fine to question others who actually have a good knowledge of the game - as some of the Chelsea fans on here commenting do - for being critical of the club’s decision making.

If they know so much how come they're not advising the football club eh?
